We gotta get some outside protection. Legit offensive tackles that can protect the edge.

Good advice, should we just stop by the offensive tackle store on the way to the Miami game?

FightinTiga said this in another thread "Gonna be a rough year if the Oline is subpar,no matter the QB"

I and a lot of other people liked his post but no one replied.

You are certainly not out of line by stating the oblivious. I hope Cregg's resume translates to success at LSU. The O line has been using guards at the tackle position for a hot minute. Everything hinges on pass protection and limited penalties committed by the O-line. Providing Cregg can make this happen the rest of the offense should be productive enough to execute.

One who can do the job well imo is on defense.

Move Rosenthal to OT stat.

I would say this also, but we have no idea what DR is at DE. Tyson Jackson maybe.

This is one area Bama has owned in games against LSU. If u can't run the ball, at any level, your pass game struggles. It doesn't matter who the qb is.

Conversely, we struggle with auburn because their line play, on both sides, is usually very good. Their upfront players are the best we see all year. Malzahn, unfortunately, knows the trenches are where all games are won.

If Ensminger can coach around any deficiencies on offense and attack the weaknesses of the other teams the way Aranda does with our defense, it’ll be a great season.

After all, he’s supposedly the best OC in the country.

E is very capable of outscheming defenses. He is getting put to the test everyday against the very best defensive coaches and talent. He will be well oiled come game day.

While this is true, the reason we haven’t been able to move the ball against stout D lines in recent years is because of Miles’ Schembechler “attack the opponent’s strength” mentality. Even that worked for him a couple times until the line depth started diminishing.

A few quick passes in the flat to back up and spread out the D will open running lanes. You don’t just run, run, play action bomb.

I need to see it before I’ll be sold, but if this is true then the concerns about real or perceived weak areas on offense will be unnecessary, and we’ll be a legit contender this year.

Is there anyway that we get Ingram back this season.

Someone posted that Ingram’s suspension is 4 games.

Not sure how credible that is so TIFWIW.

virtually all OL's take awhile to come together (unless they are all returners which seldom happens). I think our line has the talent necessary to be very good but I just don't see it geling by the beginning of the season. that, and we definitely need to fix the RT spot.

Is t going to happen. Even the best coach in the country dosen’t play on game day. Simple facts are that our OL is not up to par with the rest of the SEC and or most D1 football teams and that is going to cost us a lot of games this year. Jesus could be coaching and I think the record is the same 7-5 or 6-6, I hope not the latter, but does it really matter. And yes I am a die hard LSU fan and it’s hard to make that acknowledgement

WTF?

There are NO valid excuses for O to lose 5 games. It doesn’t surprise me that people are actually saying this considering where the coach is from, but holy shite.

Nick Saban could take this year’s LSU team and beat last year’s Bama team with O coaching them. Probably by a lot.

Alabama, Georgia, Auburn (road), Florida (road), Miami, Miss St? These are not VALID reasons?

Now, I am assuming we win some of these games, but LSU could be a top 15 team in the country and still lose to 4-5 teams bc those teams are better. Our schedule is brutal.
