I get it. I’ll bitch about poor play, poor coaching, lack of preparation. I admitted earlier our roster isn’t what it used to be, but if I have to foot the bill, then I’m out. Give me 8-4 seasons and an upset here and there.

You do realize that all of the posters on this site could give $1000/month and Larry Ellison could have still written a bigger check for Underwood?

Correct.

LSU has a $100MM-plus athletics budget and we haven't even seen the payouts from the new ESPN deal yet. $3.6MM from 3000 giving $100 monthly will BARELY move the needle. We aren't $3MM short. We are $25MM short. We are actually INIFINITELY short of the right amount until we have as much money as Texas and Michigan donors.

Is there any way to make an impact with the world’s best sports forum? Don’t know the complexities but this site is powerful

I am interested in your point of view. Is it just a principle type think relative to NIL? Is it something where you'd be fine donating to TAF, buying LSU gear, etc. but specifically sending money to athletes doesn't sit right with you?

If Underwood is really getting $10-12m

1,000 fans don't $1,200 that's $1.2m

It's not a drop in the bucket. Also not to be an OT poor but why would I give up 0.5% of my annual income so that some 18y old can get 0.01 % of his income?

It's not mathing for me.

I’m a single dad getting raked over the coals for child support, and now paying a mortgage and bills on one income. I went to the Bama game this year, and that’s about all I can afford. If they go to the Texas Bowl, I’ll go to that as well, since it’s a day trip for me. In the grand scheme of things, $10 is a bigger deal to me now than it was before my divorce

I think it’s great players can make money off their likeness. Sell autographs, get paid to work a camp, sell your t shirts, shoot your commercials. Donating to a collective =\= that.

I work my arse off as a teacher/band director/coach (sometimes). I work side gigs to help out. I have a problem paying a 17 year old money where my only return is seeing him hopefully throw some TD passes to make my Saturdays a little more enjoyable. It would be like me paying an extra fee at the movies that goes directly to certain actors.

I do buy merch as well. If I were to buy a Nuss jersey, he should get some money. The problem I have is LSU, Nike, etc would never eat into their own bottom line to give to the player. Now I have to?

ETA: I have no problem with anybody that does give. If you have the money and that’s where you want to spend, fine.

How did you set up the recurring donations on the website? I don't see an option for that.

I don't think that's unfair at all. If you don't have the funds to throw into the pot, there's no shame in that. I just think of it this way, I blow $10-20 bucks a month on bullshite every single month. If I can throw that in for NIL and it helps LSU be better on the field, it's worth it to me.

Select the option to “pledge now, pay later.” You put the total amount of your donation for the year for the sport you want to support. Then, go to your TAF member page and “set up payment schedule.” Your total donation will be there and you can set it up for whatever amount each month.

Yes, it should be easier.

I get it. Like I said, not knocking anybody that does it. It’s all about what you value and how much disposable money you have.

LSU could get more if they sent out some swag with donations.

This was not how NIL was intended.

They already price gouge on tickets, concessions, etc.

I don't see the point for fans to donate even more for spoiled athletes to get paid. Sports aren't that serious for me
