I could see Gausman starting his career off at LSU as a situational relief pitcher until he develops his offspeed better.

Also remember that we weren't carrying a full roster this year due to last minute transfers and the guys that left midseason. So we know for sure there are 6 players leaving (3 seniors, Ranaudo, Gibbs, Landry) and when you add the unfilled spots we're already looking at about 10 open spots for next year before even considering cuts, Ross leaving, etc.

I can see Gausman as no worse than our midweek starter till he gets his stuff worked out and a middle reliever during SEC play.

Could Gausman take Matty Ott's spot at closer? All you need is three outs and he could be like a Billy Wagner type closer.

He still throws a lot of heat. Even if hes tossing mostly FBs, its still going to take awhile to catch up to it. Didn't he top his FBs out at 97 at one point? Not 100% sure on that though.

he's definitely one i could see on chopping block. along with delatte, didier, lowey. they are still young enough to transfer elsewhere. i assume Lowery has a RS year left. or he could go back to juco if we need room. like i said, he has no connection to LSU being here only 1 year. Its exactly what he did to Gaudet after getting injured

Red Sox just took Lucas LeBlanc in the 11th Round...a team with money....maybe enough for LeBlanc to sign
