Scott Woodward
Dan Radakovich
Derek Ponamsky
Herb Vincent
Tom Jurich
Danny White
quote:
Scott Woodward has accomplished perhaps the most difficult feat in college athletics: He has raised the bar on a Texas A&M Athletics Department that already was performing at an elite level. Arriving in College Station in January 2016, Woodward has overseen an incredible run by the Aggies – both on and off the field.
Woodward’s vision for success centers on three primary objectives: 1. Graduate student-athletes; 2. Provide an unmatched student-athlete experience; 3. Win championships with integrity.
quote:
At LSU, Woodward also served as the Chancellor’s representative to the athletics department. During his time with the Tigers, the institution’s intercollegiate athletic teams won 10 NCAA championships, including one in football in 2003.
After serving as a political consultant and legislative liaison in Baton Rouge, Woodward founded a government and public relations firm in the mid-1990s, providing strategic policy direction to Fortune 500 corporations, including clients in the education, insurance and oil industries. He also worked on behalf of the Louisiana Nature Conservancy and the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, as well as served on the Board of Directors of the Baton Rouge Food Bank.
Woodward earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from LSU in 1985. He is married to Nanette Dicharry and has two adult sons, Michael and Josh Evans.
Dan Radakovich
quote:
Dan Radakovich (born June 9, 1958) is the athletics director at Clemson University.[2] Previously, he was the Athletics Director at the Georgia Institute of Technology, a position he held from February 22, 2006 to October 29, 2012.[3] He was previously the Senior Associate Director of Athletics at Louisiana State University.
quote:
At LSU, he developed a football ticket donation program, and was involved in $90,000,000 renovation of Tiger Stadium.
Derek Ponamsky
quote:
Thirty-six-year-old Dereck Ponamsky faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine following his guilty plea Thursday. His sentencing is set for May 17.
Federal prosecutors say Ponamsky altered his Coast Guard license to include a "first class pilot endorsement" to which he wasn't entitled. He used the altered license to work as a pilot for the New Orleans-Baton Rouge Steamship Pilots Association from June 2005 until February 2008
Herb Vincent
quote:
He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from LSU in 1983 and worked as a student assistant in the sports information office directed by CoSIDA Hall of Famer Paul Manasseh during his undergraduate years.
After graduating from LSU, Vincent spent the 1984 season as assistant public relations director for the United States Football League's New Orleans Breakers. In 1985, he was assistant PR director for the USFL's Los Angeles Express and was promoted during the season to the public relations staff's top position.
Vincent also served one year as assistant SID and publications director at Louisiana-Lafayette and two years as assistant director of public relations for the Southeastern Conference prior to joining LSU in 1988.
Vincent is the author of a book on the history of LSU football, "The LSU Football Vault." He is married to the former Jamey Cavacini of Versailles, Ky., and they have one daughter, Kennedy.
Tom Jurich
quote:
Some of Jurich’s most notable accomplishments at Louisville include:
Procuring a 16-year, $160 million apparel contract extension with Adidas
Moving the men’s and women’s basketball programs to the KFC Yum Center.
Beginning a $55 million construction project on Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.
Constructing the $18.5 million soccer stadium.
Hiring Pitino, current football coach Bobby Petrino and current baseball coach Dan McDonnell.
Winning the Sports Business Journal/Sports Business Daily Athletic Director of the Year award in 2007 and placing as a finalist in 2013.
Being inducted into the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.
Danny White
quote:
Under his leadership, the Knights have seen great success in competition, in the classroom and in the community. UCF's football program went from winless in 2015 to six victories and a bowl game appearance in 2016. The Knights improved even more in 2017, finishing the season as the only undefeated team in the nation and claiming a national championship. The Knights finished 13-0 in the 2017 season, capping the incredible year with a 34-27 victory over Auburn in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
During White’s three years at Buffalo, he, his colleagues and the Bulls’ student-athletes raised the program’s profile in the community and nationally. Their achievements include:
Buffalo teams, including men’s basketball, earned three NCAA tournament bids in 2014-15, compared with just one in the prior 15 years.
UB student-athletes have recorded an average GPA of at least 3.0 for seven consecutive semesters. Prior to White’s arrival, the average GPA had never exceed 3.0 in any semester.
Financial support for UB athletics has reached an all-time high, with the number of donors increasing by 137 percent since the start of a membership campaign in 2013.
UB shattered its football attendance records in 2013 after adding interactive opportunities for fans, including a tailgate concert series with nationally known artists.
The state’s largest public university and the flagship of the SUNY system, UB for the first time adopted a radio network that spanned the entire state.

Why would he leave a better gig at a way wealthier university for LSU?

Any other possible candidates besides Woodward or the Clemson AD?

I think this is a better question:
Do we want a guy who has only attempted to solve the aTm problems by throwing the bank at everyone available?
We all know Jimbo's insane salary, and now Buzz Williams is going to make $3.8 million next year (Wade makes $2.5)

I would settle for a cardboard cutout of literally any other AD

I agree. I’d love for him to come home.
Who do we actually get? Radakovich? Before you downvote, being an AD st a sec school is more prestigious than an ACC school. Do they hire herb back from the sec. Just don’t see Woodward leaving A&M unless he just wants to move back here. Honestly. Who do y’all think we get

Herb Vincent will be the next AD once Alleva retires.

Yes. Not like he got some scrubs. We have a coach with a $10,000,000 buyout who wouldn’t be hired by anyone else in the country.

Gotta be Derek, right? The logical choice at this point

Tom Jurich...he has sat out for over a year. He has done his time.

Ponamsky also became the fluffer for LSU head coach Ed Orgeron on November 26, 2016 after Orgeron officially became the head coach. He’s overseen many of shoulders and holds the record for most times nodding his head in agreement with Orgeron. You can catch him posting his inside the program pictures on Twitter or on the website “Tigerdroppings” where he posts his pro-Orgeron propaganda under the username, “TigerRee”

I’m all in for Woodward. Time to steal someone from A&M instead of them trying to poach us for once.

Have I missed something?

A&M may have deep pockets, but they are desperate to be better than Texas. LSU also has the money. Hiring a coach to a 10 year massive deal creates a lot of pressure. Couple that with the pressure to be better than Texas, and the LSU job looks a little more enticing! Plus, it won’t be hard to do a better job than his predecessor.

yes Bran is looking right at you

No you haven’t, just one more slapdick posting about he probably knows something. Alleva will be here he isn’t going anywhere.
