Observations on this team/program

Wade said before the season started, the NIT wouldn’t cut it this year. What happens if we don’t make that?
If the season ended today, it’s hard for me to see any player on this team going pro and getting drafted in the first round. I know Reid was thought to be that guy but he doesn’t look close. The others are even further behind him.
The main thing that has really surprised me is the shooting on this team. I thought we would be a very good 3 point shooting team with our guards, Edwards, and the bigs who can shoot. We’ve been awful.
Rebounding - I can’t explain it. That’s why we lost this game.
Finally - Tremont Waters. He’s not this bad but he fell off a cliff in SEC play last year. It just wasn’t as noticed because expectations were low and he was relied on to shoot a ton. He’s averaging almost five turnovers a game.
There is still time to turn this around but this team needs someone on the floor to lead. Waters isn’t that guy so who is?

Need to just fire Alleva and let’s start rebuilding everything

Simple answer - Smart should run the offense. He's a true point guard who can slash and score.

Alleva is a blight on LSU athletics. His a** needs to be gone before Mainieri decides to retire. No way I'd want him making that hire.

Wade made a big mistake decreeing Reid as a one and done player. That kind of statement comes with large expectations. Now Reid hasn’t been terrible and I know he had an ankle injury but I expect that kind of player to be dominant against most competition and I haven’t seen it.
But by far the worst aspect of this team is rebounding. That one area is costing us ballgames. Reid, Days, Williams and Bigby-Williams were all supposed to solidify the rebounding and they haven’t come close to dominating the boards. If wade can’t fix that, we’ll keep losing close games against better competition.
