I did not think O was a good hire. I did not think Ensminger was a good choice for OC. I do not believe in the "CEO" head coaching model Alleva is experimenting with. I expected losses to Miami, Auburn, State, Georgia, and Bama this year. My benchmark for success was 10 wins, or else time to move on.

And yet, O has addressed many positions of need and has this team on track for a 10 or 11 win season. To say I'm amazed is an understatement. Although this loss to Bama was a fricking pathetic farce, I'm going to honor what I said before the season: O gets my support if we hit 10 wins.

Next year, I need to see 10 wins AND a true, consistent, significant, and reliable improvement on offense. Our offense is dick and we fired a championship winning coach for that. You can't win this conference with one side of the ball. If we can't drastically improve the offense next year, then we need to look elsewhere.

This is what we were saying coming into this year FWIW.

Probably what you'll be saying going into 2020 too.

Nope. Next year or bust. Or, bust this year with 9 wins or less.

A 10 win season with this schedule will be nothing short of remarkable. Sorry, I'm willing to wait another year for the offense if it means LSU has a frickING TEN WIN SEASON.

The gift that keeps on giving. You never have to take responsibility for the present when it's just about "Next Year."

How is it about next year if my support is contingent on winning 10-11 games this year?

Miami and Auburn were pretenders. Just like last year, our wins are mostly nowhere near as impressive as they suggest UGA was a great win. Auburn last year was a great win. That's it.

The schedule's not nearly as tough as it seemed at the beginning of the year. UGA is a good win, but Auburn, Miami, Florida, and A&M are mediocre. Arkansas and Ole Miss are terrible.

Whatever. I'm not bitching about surviving the SEC West with a 10 win record. We may even get to 11.

I'm actually okay with this.

Unlike a lot of the pumpers, you've put a floor down on this / next year.

Fair enough.

As if it already happened. Plus, the I'm responding to the sentiment of "next year" in general.

It is a discretionary act of deliberate patience, not blind loyalty or open-ended tolerance.

I said at the beginning of the season I would be happy with a 10-2 season IF we were at least competitive against Bama.
We were not competitive against Bama at all. That being said, if he wins out, including the bowl game I will accept this as a decent enough season for this year since we would have come very close to an 11-1 season.

We are 100% on track to meet the metric I set before the season, which looked all but impossible. I'm not moving the goal posts just because we have exceeded expectations.

A 10 or 11 win season is nothing to sneeze at. But, it's a little deflating thinking of what could have been with a better offense which is what Coach O promised to deliver.
