Nussmeier’s 294 passing yards were the most in a second half (including OT) in LSU football history, according to LSU stat guru Todd Politz.

I need to see more than a half of football in a game that wasn’t decided at halftime already to judge.

That will be difficult for you while wearing those Daniels blinders

Who gives a shite? It never got LSU within 19 point of taking the lead.
Pretty much garbage time and some LSU fans are celebrating this accomplishment like Ole Miss fan would do and only because it wasn’t JD!

Pretty sad.

Nuss had more deep ball success in one half than JD had in 13.5 games. If you can’t understand why we wanna see Nuss then you’re blinded by some other motives

Most of us with any football acumen don't want to see the second coming of Jarrett Lee.

Only partially kidding, but turnovers are the one thing that are guaranteed to lose you football games. Especially when your special teams seemed to start out the season giving the other team a minimum of 7 points every game, if Nuss walked out there and played chuck-n-duck people would have been outside Kelly's house with torches and pitchforks.

Why do people keeping saying garbage time? Did you watch the game? They had a comfortable lead but they never took the starters out, it was their first string D. And no they weren’t in prevent, all of his passes were deep, not short gimmicks.

After the first td it was only 35-17. If not for a failed fourth and one it would have been 35-24. Thanks for watching.

The thing that jumps out the most to me (passing only) is not just Nuss’ superior arm strength but just how pretty & accurate his deep throws are.

As far as JDs deep passes go at least once (usually more) every game an LSU WR could be seen running wide arse open up the sidelines or inside seams & JD either never saw them, saw them but it was 2 late or he’d just rely on his instincts & take off running! On the very RARE occasions when he did throw it, it would inevitably be a nasty looking, wobbly-arse duck that was pitifully under thrown. Thankfully LSUs WRs are ELITE freaks so a lot of times they would break off their route & come back to the ball 2 catch it or at least keep the CB/S from intercepting it. If JD comes back he has to get a lot better at the deep ball & just giving his ELITE WRs the opportunity to make a play.

Interceptions will happen no matter who is qb. Daniels seems to like to throw to a receiver who turns and faces him essentially stopping any progress and is usually throws behind a running receiver. I saw something different than Nuss. There were some 50/50 balls but we have great receivers that apparently Nuss trust to catch them and they did, a couple that could have been picked off. But great receivers do this even in the pros. We have great receivers, I hope we use them.

Nice, but this is not even close to Joe Burrow's 403 yards in the first half against Oklahoma.

#99 Carter didn't play the most of the 4th qtr if at all. he was a one man wrecking crew and was in JD's face the entire game so no it's not apples to apples. I'm all for Nuss getting more PT but this anointing Nuss as the next coming of Burrow when he had absolutely no pressure or expectations in a game that was pretty much over is ridiculous. JD had 208 yds passing against the #1 defense in the country in the first half on a bum ankle with everything but the kitchen sink being thrown at him and if not for 2 fluke plays would probably be within a FG of GA at the half but not one grain of respect for that performance. Pathetic.

Let’s not get overly emotional here. There’s been plenty of respect for his gritty performance. He’s done that all year. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing, or one or the other. You can simultaneously appreciate and respect JD AND be excited for what Nuss could bring to the table.
