Pretty sure he meant it changes the options of what can happen in that said play (scramble, run, etc.), not actually running the option.

Not really. He's been indirectly saying who he wants all offseason. In addition to passing the ball effectively... "I think" Denbrock wants a guy he can move outside the pocket, dial up occasional run-threat plays from the QB position, and someone that can extend plays when stuff breaks down. Daniels has the closest skill set to his former QB, Desmond Ridder. Thats why they brought him in (contrary to what people want to believe). Its invested interest.

People here are blowing the mobility piece of what he said out of proportion.

He said at least twice that what they ran at Cincinnati will have no bearing on what they run at LSU this year.

Definitely sounds like the job is between Daniels and NUSS

Not if you actually watch the press conference in its entirety, sounds like it's still wide open.

People here aren't objective.

I pointed out that TE and RB were our offensive weaknesses, and have been downvoted 6 times to 0. This, on paper, is pretty much universally accepted that those two positions are our weakest on offense.

Im optimistic Cain looks better this season after another year removed from his knee surgery.

Don’t think he ever had knee injury, it was high ankle sprain his first year and foot injury by his lineman his second year playing. Regardless of the injury I share the same optimism that he will be a productive back this year.

Interesting take, considering he calls out 'working on Daniels feet' and 'need for not turning the ball over'...

He suffered a knee injury the first game of the 2020 season according to the articles I’ve read.

Please post link of that article. He without a doubt has never had surgery on knee.

Having a mobile QB changes the options in the play, but won't affect the play calling itself.

This guy thinks he knows more than Denbrock

Best part is, he’s completely wrong … never change rant

these all reference a knee injury ending his 2020 season. I inferred he likely had surgery as a result of said injury. Maybe he was rehabbed it. Regardless, I’m optimistic that he will be in better form this season another year removed from the knee injury.

That's the same bullshite "coach speak" you hear from all coaches.

I remember when you baws were pissing down your legs over "one team, one heartbeat".

Or practically having orgasm over the "big cat drill".

Thanks for links, but I’m pretty certain he didn’t suffer knee injury. It was never officially disclosed so everyone just assumed knee when it was referenced to being “leg injury. After the injury in Indiana game he was on sideline in a walking boot due to foot injury.

Feels like a BK team not utilizing those talented WRs from that first statement and the fact that the OC was a former Oline coach.
I don’t know what explosive plays and how this may impact recruiting if we are not about tempo and being explosive in this conference. Throwing heavy to backs and TEs will cost a bunch a losses.

Boutte and Bech playing out of the slot. I think those are the shorter range throws he can make and you can pair up option stuff

And you can count that as a consistent 4-5 losses a season because this isn’t the big 10 or NDs schedule. The speed at LB and DB separates this league.
You better stretch the field and often with speed and throw it there otherwise they will suck up and kill your arse.
You’ll be kicking a bunch of FG because defenses will use the boundaries and end zone to stop you from scoring or progressing the ball.

I don’t know who Denbrock thinks he is coaching against but him and Kelly will be short lived if they think backs and TEs will work in this league

Stop being ignorant. Denbrock and Kelly were running tempo at Cincy before a lot of other OCs were. Even when Denbrock went TE heavy at Cincy over the last 2-3 seasons, he still ran a fast pace there. He’s going to do the same here. Sets and personnel do not determine the tempo the offense is run at.

How often did we throw to CEH in 2019? We did it more and more as the season went on, especially in big games. Throwing the ball to the backs helps to keep the defense off balance and spreads them out. Doing this isn’t going to detract from our WRs. Putting guys like Emery and Goodman in space vs LBs isn’t a disadvantage like you make it out to be.
