I know tOSU will enhance it's SOS if it wins out, but when you look at quality wins LSU should win hands down.

Ohio St:
Wisconsin (currently 12th. Plays Minnesota for spot in Big 10 CG) If Wisky wins plays OSU again and loses they are now a 3 loss team and somewhere in the teens in ranking. Minny wins and OSU beats them they drop out of the top 10 as well.

Penn St - has won ugly all season. If they lose big to OSU they drop to the teens.

Michigan - Same as Penn St. Already in teens. Lose and they drop to low teens.

LSU:
Bama - beats Auburn and finishes no lower than 5/6

UGA - Beats aggie and lose to LSU. Probably drops to 8/9.

Florida (currently at #11) - Beat FSU and likely finishes at 10 after others in top 10 lose/beat each other

Bottom line: There is a high probability that after the conference championships LSU will have victories over 3 teams finishing in the Top 10. Ohio St likely has 1.

I just don't see Ohio St at #1 when the final rankings drop.

Why are you even worried about this? Wasn't this supposed to happen this week?

No matter what anyone says...it's all about what have you done lately...both SOS will be close to each other.

If we beat up on UGA good and OSU has to play a weak Wisconsin team probably then we'll #1.

Just take care of the next three games and we'll be fine.

If we play solid these last three games we have nothing to worry about.

Here is why they see it. They are already close in the eyes of the committee. So far no one has been within 24 points of OSU so far. So if OSU beats a top 10 PSU and two more top 15 teams in a row by the same margin or higher that makes the resume pretty close. So they think the committee will see one team beating ranked opponents in competitive games and the other beating ranked opponents by an historic margin. At the end of the day these games haven't been played yet and not worth getting worked up.

This. We need to blow out Arky and beat the Aggies and Dawgs convincingly. That's all we can do.

Fitting description of every team Ohio State has played this year.

It’s so the pundits will have something to talk about to keep the CFP in the news.

Not worried. It's just a more interesting discussion than playing Arkansas this week. This could be the worst team we play this season.

OSU will lose one of these last 3 games. I just have a feeling. Probably gas.

But book it anyway. They lose one.

LSU would have beaten every team on your schedule so far by 24 +

If they blow out Penn St. this week, I fully expect Ohio St. to jump LSU and become #1. The question is does LSU jump them back after the UGA game. Should but you never know.

Depends on how OSU looks in these next 2 likely.

Most on here would agree PSU/Michigan are pretty close to equal as UF/Auburn. Let's just say for the sake of argument they are equal. If OSU goes out and beats both teams by 20+, then the committee could easily say OSU should be #1 cause they are beating good teams by 3 possessions when LSU beat Auburn by 3 (UF they beat by 14 so that's a really good win).

No one on OSU's schedule will be as good as Bama, although if Bama loses to Auburn, then you could put them in that Michigan/Auburn/UF/PSU bunch I guess for this season maybe?

End of the year OSU would have

Good wins against PSU/Michigan/Wisconsin
B1GCG team (either Wisky or Minny as you stated)
Cincy if they keep winning even if it's ugly (they are 19th I think this week).

LSU (edited) will have:

Very good wins against Bama (depending on how those 2 finish out)
Good wins against UF/Auburn
SECCG against UGA

It's feasible OSU has more top 25 wins than LSU at year end, but LSU will likely have the higher ranked wins. Then the committee could look at "eye test" and say one team looked better, and be as arbitrary as they want to

OSU could have: Wisky/Minny/PSU/Michigan/Cincy
LSU would have: UF/Auburn/Bama/UGA (maybe Texas can sneak back in? I have no idea or maybe A&M?)

LSU will have a three top 10 wins if they beat uga. (Teams that actually finished in the top 10). UF ,Bama and UGA.

OSU will have no teams in the top 10 because psu and Mich will drop

If I had to bet, I'd say Memphis beats Cincy @Memphis and then the Bearcats have only wins over garbage teams and probably drop to around 25. Even if Aggie is unranked, considering they would have losses to Auburn, Clemson, Bama, UGA and LSU that's a brutal schedule.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Wisky beats Minn and that would likely hurt Ohio St if they play them twice.

It's all speculation though.

Why does this matter?
It's a meaningless number because whoever wins the NC will be the number one that counts.
I'm happy we will be in the playoff at any seed.
Once we get in then all the talk is meaningless and we will be judged on our wins---as it should be.

We want Oregon/utah/ Bama. We don't want Clemson the first playoff game.
