ea, shame on the OP for laying out exactly what’s ahead for our tournamnet chances. How dare he? Give me a break.

Seriously, maybe you’re the one who should stop posting.

We have to win the tournament to get in the Big Dance. You can lay out every scenario known to mankind the only scenario you should of posted is we need to win the SECT to get in. End of discussion.

Man, you have it all figured out. You should probably be on the committee.

LSU hasn’t won more than 3 games in a row all year. Why would they, all of the sudden win 5 games in row? Just be happy that they have a very good chance of making the NIT

Lol. They're already a lock for the NIT.

Good point. There has never been a team in history to ever get hot at the end of a season and win a few games in a conference tournament. We shouldn’t have even made the trip to St. Louis.

Man, have you ever thought its so much more fun to dream? It's okay if we dont make it to the NCAAT but its so much more fun to feel like there's a chance. We can still play for a championship. Who care's if it's unlikely?

It’s much better to live in reality. That being said, I would love to see LSU suspend reality and go on a 5 game win streak.

100%
It’s great that we’re even discussing the possibility, we need a bit of optimism after the last 2 years.
Bet coach Wade isn’t thinking that they’ll lose their first game. Win that, and I bet he doesn’t think they’ll lose the next game. Repeat.

Sorry but this is not factually correct. There definitely IS scenarios in which we could make the SECT title game, lose, and get selected as an at-large, it requires some things I've already laid out for the potential to be there, but again, our Quadrant 1 wins and RPI would be good enough to be selected. Not saying they definitely WOULD be selected, but it would be good enough.

The fact that right now many places put us basically right outside the last 4 out should tell you a good run could put them on the good side of the bubble. Actually, Bracketmatrix has us as the last team in the next 4 out right now.

I have been saying for the last 6 weeks, and joey brackets on espn for the last 2 days we need 20 to get in with our great resume. If we win the next 3, i guess we will see who is right. For blank's sake, we are on several first 4 and first 8 outs. We ain't that motherblanking far from an at large as you say we are.

The irony in all this is that the only person not telling the truth or living in reality is you.

It is not likely that LSU makes the SEC Championship, but it is far from fantasy... It is a possible reality. If LSU makes it, that does not mean we "suspended reality"; it means we played better than our opponent all weekend.

And if LSU makes the Championship there is still about a 50/50 chance LSU would get an at large bid. It's in the numbers. It's not fantasy; it's a possible reality.

Only 3 teams in the SEC went on a 5 game SEC winning streak this year so it's uncharted waters for just about everyone. Also, no one has won an SEC neutral site game this year. LSU is on an even playing field in that stat. Using the fact that we havent won 5 in a row this year proving we cannot do it is silly.

Today is a big day for bubble teams:

Louisville v. Florida St. (want FSU to win)
OU vs. Oklahoma St. (want OU to win)
Syracuse v. UNC (absolutely need UNC to win)
DePaul v. Marquette (a DePaul win would crush MU's chances)
Notre Dame v. Va. Tech (want Va. Tech to win)

Well, not off to a great start (as far as LSU is concerned). Louisville handled FSU fairly easily

But fun fact, there are only 16 teams in the country who have a winning record vs. Q1 opponents. LSU is one of those teams and also only one of three from the SEC (Auburn and Florida are the others). Also, LSU has beaten two of the other 15 teams in that group (Michigan and Houston)

LSU is not going to make the tournament. This team did better than expected, so enjoy the success that they had.

If we win one SEC tournament game, which is possible, it will just ba another feather in this team's cap.

I really liked what rick Barnes said about not giving a shite about the conference tournament. If we get by State I think LSU is going to beat Tennessee.

Not so fast my friend. We can lose the final and still get in is my point. If we beat MSU, TN, FL. That's too many Quadrant 1 wins and a 20 win season.

I'd just like to see LSU play Tennessee with a full roster. Remember, Rachal and Wade were suspended for that game. Tennessee doesn't play frontcourt guys with a ton of height (Williams is 6'7, Scoffield is 6'5). Epps and Reath are bad matchups for those guys defensively (it's why you saw Simms play a lot vs. Vandy).

Rachal has been outstanding the last two games (13 rebounds & 3 steals vs. USC; 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and several deflections that led to turnovers vs. MSU)
