He's already secured for his final year.

And you really don't have to go for all that NIL right crap, if someone wants to pay someone... just do it. The whole NIL rights thing is stupid.

The lie that the NCAA can actually regulate compensation is a strawman. Its over for the NCAA in this mix. There just isn't anything stopping players from getting paid for basically anything at this point, other than if the schools.

Its quite silly at this point, these people still have accepted that its over.

As far as Stingley he is already secure, money should be used to sign the 2022 class.

The cat is definitely out of the bag... Pandora's Box is wide open... we're going to end up with a completely different college football.

Hope there is a tax advisor on staff. You know they’ll be cracking down on these guys. They need to know to save 30%.

What do you mean? It’s all ordinary income and very few of them will earn near enough to be in a 30% marginal tax bracket.

You just made my point. These guys will receive this income in their likeness and not think they have to pay any taxes on it. It doesn’t matter the bracket they fall in to, they still have to claim it.

Presumably, they’re gonna be independent contractors. I can’t imagine any of them qualifying as employees. Therefore they’ll have to pay the first 15% in SS/Medicare taxes. Given what many of them will be making, getting up to another 15% between state and federal will be almost a given. Many will have to pay a lot more.

I'm sure Stingley has a separate business that the NIL endorsements go to

If I were a student athlete, I'd create an LLC and "loan out" my NIL though that.

Only a very few will have actual value for they image. It is their athletic ability that they are being compensated for and soon all of them will get something for that ability under the guise of NIL.

Will LSU find enough NIL cash to compete with Bama? This is the kind of dilemma college football is facing now.

There doesn't have to be a "guise", the ability of the NCAA to regulate compensation is over in any form. If the schools don't want to regulate, not much the NCAA can do about it.

Agree on your first statement, its all about signing day or transferring.
