well not really his excuse but I thought it was funny to listen to but I was listening to the live bama broadcast on my live sports radio thing (just to here saban after the loss how great it was) and saban pretty much said this team just doesn't have the attitude as last years team did so this along with other things is why we lost. So pretty much saying this team sucks compared to last years team

I found it pretty funny when I heard it.

FWIW, he said exactly the same thing to Jack Arute on Thursday before the game.

Dude was outcoached, but put the blame on the team not coming together.

Saban has always found excuses.

The reverse on fourth down worked because a player did not execute. bullshite! The reverse worked because everyone in the stadium knew that Ridley would get the ball on a power play. Only the LSU coaching staff and LSU players on the field knew it was going to be a reverse.

LSU lost the Cap One Bowl to Iowa in '04 on a blown assignment. bullshite! We lost to Iowa because our quarterbacks underperformed all day.

LSU lost to Auburn in '04 because a legitimate penalty was called. Not because Saban benched Marcus Randle after the guy led the Tigers down the field for a touchdown on the opening drive.

Nothing Saban's teams do wrong is ever his fault. The guy is an excuse laden arse hat.

He's doing what he's done his entire head coaching career, talking to his team through the media. You and I both know he's not saying his team sucks. It's a way of motivating them to stay focused & execute better. More often than not it's worked for him.

Nicky always blames the players - it's never his coaching.

For example, I can remeber the Capitol One bowl when we lost to Iowa when he coached LSU, he really threw the players under the bus for that one as well.

agreed he was outcoached, but i think he is right about his teams attitude. they just aren't as hungry as last years team. they lost a lot of leadership on defense and leadership and team chemistry is really the difference if you think about it. a lot of sec teams pretty much have equal talent. one thing about sabans game interviews (actually all his interviews) he is always sending a message, to his team, to the fans, etc.

+1 It is much harder to maintain the hunger. Any coach will tell you that and it is why coaches that win back to back NC's are held in such high regard.

Saban needs to accept the blame and quit blaming his players. He was, simply put, OUTCOACHED!
