I question how effective he would have remained once we got into SEC play unfortunately.

That’s a fair question but he was spotting up pretty well with a good breaking ball. He wouldn’t have been our closer but I think he would’ve been a valuable piece of the bullpen last year. This year with these freshmen..... not so sure about that

Should be at 79. Can sign two more. If we sign three more there will have to be one player leave.

No. The seniors who return and use their Covid year, “Super Seniors” they are calling them, don’t count in the numbers.

Excellent decision by Storz. College baseball is such a trash sport.

Not surprised at all. Wish he stuck it out with baseball, but oh well. I dont think the mound is where we will have trouble

I just wish he would’ve come back to try his luck with the bat in his hand. Could’ve been a fun pinch hitter if it worked out

How? Next year we’ll have a lot of departures, but the only way it will create a low numbers problem is if we have excessive departures from our 2019 class. And that is unrelated to these guys coming back. In fact, all of these returning players might cut down on the exposure of 2019 guys making it less likely they depart.

He could still pitch but he couldn’t be a top tier arm like he used to be

That was my point. Storz lost velocity and could not get it back. At 90 mph he had no future, so he switched to a sport in which he might have a future. It seemed like a smart choice to me.

I don’t recall any actual evaluation of him as TE he’s got size. How fast is he and can he catch? Looks like Gilbert is gone. Maybe this shapes up as the next great story. It’s going to be awesome when we’re bitching about the announcers constantly talking about him being a former baseball player

He couldn’t pitch. What would you do?

Take my chance at the plate? Or keep trying to make it work on the mound?

I’m just saying from a future stand point, I don’t think the chance of playing past college baseball had passed him by yet, but I don’t think anyone thinks he’s going to make it to the NFL.

Maybe he’s gonna surprise. Idk

I’m not saying you’re wrong but do we know? I’m just hoping we get a surprise.
