To be fair. Hamilton got about a week of practice with the team
He went from seeing a big brown football to a little bitty baseball

I'm willing to forgive any player for 2020.

don’t believe Storz was on scholarship so he wouldn’t count towards that number anyway.
Thanks to Bear Bryant, any athlete that plays football is on a football scholarship regardless of what other sports they play or what their “primary sport” is.
Bear used to put kids on tennis and swimming scholarships to get around the limits back in the day.

The seniors who decided to stay don't count against the roster limits.

Right but I was almost positive that Storz gave up his baseball scholarship to walk on to the football team which would be ok but he would not be eligible to receive scholarship money from the 2021 baseball team.

LSU should have kept a larger roster
Might need it with a covid outbreak
Other teams have up to 45
You can only travel 28 or so during sec

Embody said he believes Storz is still on scholarship.

I may be wrong here, but I thought that due to COVID changes this years seniors who return next year do not count against the 85 limit. Anyone know if this is right?

I can remember when the then Alabama baseball head coach once said he really enjoyed attending the baseball end-of-season banquet because he got to meet some of his scholarship players who were on the football team.

You missed 2019 football. Then you failed to recognize that all 2020 defensive players took a step back.
But, I do agree with you in baseball. Those 17 games was MORE than enough to evaluate a true freshman.
Idiot.

What happened with him?

As much as I blame Pelini for a lot of the failures on defense, I can't blame Hampton's awful tackling on anyone but Hampton. That's a matter of wanting to, or not.
Now as far as baseball is concerned, I do agree that we can't say much about him there, given that he didn't get much time. But he really looked beyond lost up there, at times, for whatever that's worth. My thing is I remember how raw Jared Mitchell was when he was trying to play two sports. When he decided to stick to just baseball, he took off. So part of me wants to see how good Hampton could be at baseball if he quit football.
The problem is that he hasn't shown to be better at either sport, yet. I'm interested to see if he starts to tap into the potential he was said to have in baseball, because I was thoroughly unimpressed with his lack of tackling.

I think it really sucks for him and LSU Baseball. If I remember correctly, he turned decent money to come to campus. This guy is 262 lbs without any fat. It was easy to imagine him dominating in college and then moving on to the majors. The injuries were just too much. I feel bad for him.

Meh. He barely played baseball last season.
As for football. I’m giving every player on this years defense a complete pass due to Bo’s shiTty coaching.

FB needs TEs more than BB needs pitchers.

He was effective last year. His velocity had dropped from high school but he was effective.
He could still pitch but he couldn’t be a top tier arm like he used to be.

I question how effective he would have remained once we got into SEC play unfortunately.
