Mettenberger + Landry + Beckham + Hill. Along with, what, 8 offensive linemen who started at least one or two games, right?
That doesn't even consider the depth, such as most of the backs coming back for their senior years (nobody has had the year to make themselves draft eligible).

Next season's offense should be great. We probably don't score under 20 points in any game (this year our low was 6 against Fla). Unless the defense vanishes, we have another excellent season

So, we'll go from poor to great simply because the guys are a year older?

It takes more than good players to have a great offense.

eta: Oops... you said "should be". I agree... the offense SHOULD be great.

Honestly, that doesn't bother me. Once you consider the early part of the season was due to:
1) new QB getting his feet wet
2) lots of O-linemen going down
3) Hill working his way back into football shape and moving up the depth chart
4) Landry and Beckham settling down and taking the play in front of them, instead of trying to force a highlight

2nd half of the season, particularly Bama game on, yeah, I will take the same ol playcalling. That's what I expect to see, and it has me optimistic

Unless those calling the plays are different, it will not matter.

Exactly what it means Rex. A year older makes a big difference.

I expect the defense to be weaker next year. We don't have the DT depth that we need.

Need more creative plays and play calling. Miles is pretty smart and I'm sure he recognises that this is a problem. Mett and the offensive talent will be better next year than it was this year.

Call me a negatiger if you want, but I see another
11-2 season. I remember when we said

and more last year, plus we lose a LOT on defense.

Miles has been good in the past at recognising his mistakes and taking corrective measures in the off season. I expect him to do the same this off season. Play calling and the plays themselves have been a glaring weakness this season and I think it will get addressed.

This could be the issue. With the addition of Leslie and possibly Gardner, we should have a legitimate deep threat next year and be able to connect on several of those deep throws. What scares me is the absence of the defense as of late, and the fact that its becoming a trend.

If we lose Mingo, Montgomery, Reid, Minter, Simon.. and maybe others like a lot of people are saying, then this may be a rare year where the offense is ahead of the defense and we will really need to rely on the offense to win us games.

We have talented replacements on defense. They would just have to get ready.

just add a decent offensive coordinator to that mix and I believe we will be great.
