Will Cade York sign early ?

Firm commit, but he will not be eligible to enroll in Spring. We actually talked about this today. He had the opportunity to graduate early and really regrets not jumping on the chance when it was there.

He’s 12, been at it for a few years. He’ll get a shot next year in 7th.

He’s been to a kicking coach, but the shallow approach isn’t natural for him. He likes another little half step to get a bit wider, but that’s just the accuracy shot in soccer...a corner kick if you will. He doesn’t mind the approach for kick offs, but he’s just starting to really practice that.

For now ill just let him kick and enjoy the motion, we’ll work on technique later. He loves it.

Thanks for the reply.

A few kicks...

Gaston.... he has some good natural motion. Couple things stood out but he has “ good bones” to work with. So, where do you guys live?

Bay St Louis.

He’ll be at Stanislaus for the next 6 years...no telling how many reps he ends up on that field.

ETA: lots of stuff to clean up for sure.

Is there a mechanics difference that coaches can key on?

They are numerous, but all attainable skills with practice.

Thank you for posting this by the way. So many people here think that the kickers just go out there and kick the ball through the uprights and that there's no real coaching involved.

ROCKACHAWS!! I see Encrapera was promoted to fill Jordan’s spot. Lots of coaching changes in past three years with Conides leaving for Denham Springs.

I know a very sound coach in Madisonville La.... probably and hour or so from you. Great with younger kickers. Kicked at McNeese a few years and did a 3 year stint in the CFL. Runs a small regional training camp... 4thandTenKicking. His name is Charlie Hebert.

When you get ready to have him start working mechanics, I would recommend Charlie. Jamie Kohl’s also brings a one day training camp to Baton Rouge each year. Another very fundamentally sound training camp.

I have a small group I currently work with but I’m hit and miss. Send me your email and I can provide you some other great resources to help your son maximize his potential and come to love his position
