"Next Year Is Our Year" Early Depth Chart Look

As I do most years whether I post it or not, I have concluded a preliminary look at next year's projected depth chart vs. this year's. I thought heading into the declaration phase of the off season, it would help me look at who was starting at the end of the year, and who is most likely coming back so that I can get a sense of what to make of next year's team. (And panic when someone declares that I don't expect) I will forego any preliminary analysis, but on offense we'll lose both TEs we ran with, Garrett Brumfield, and Brossette to graduation. So 8/11 returning starters, and only Brumfield gone from our top 7 OLinemen. On defense, Greedy, Battle, and White depart, and hopefully don't take Rashard Lawrence with them. That would leave us another 8/11 returning starters on defense as well. Special teams, Tracy is gone and is turning the lights out as he leaves. BUT, you get both punters back, and our return game simply cannot get worse, as I would conservatively place it as the worst I've ever seen in my life.

Stevens backing up corner and safety and no Stingley on the 2 deep?
That's unlikely.

I thought so, I can't find him on anyone's injury sheets though.

Going to go ahead and say it, the OL will look almsot nothing like this. Only thing I can say for sure is Cush will be the starting center.

Dee Anderson definitely goes ahead of Giles.

I would throw D White in there, got a feeling he will come back

Oline best case scenario:
LT: Charles
LG: Hines
C: Cushenberry
RG: Lewis
RT: Rosenthal
Worst Case:
Charles
Hines
Cushenberry
Lewis
Deculus
Hines better start. The kid is a stud.

I would Hope no one is safe at their position.
I feel Like an ideal OL next year would be
Rosenthal
Hines
Cush
Thomas
Charles
But that’s kinda in an ideal situation where everyone is at their peak potential.
Rosenthal looks the part, and if he’s ready next year that would be huuuuuge.

I would replace Hines with Deculus and that's my line - assuming Lewis doesnt come back, if he does then him at RG still.

I think The ceiling for Thomas even as a freshmen is higher than Lewis.
This is sorta my “highest ceiling” line up. Honestly if we really want to get into that, Cush may not be safe either.
I think Continueity in season is good, but I dont Think experience should trump ability. If you’re not that good, and you’re still not that good, being experienced isn’t gonna help.

Rosenthal should be left tackle.

Replace Hines with Deculus? Did you even watch a game this year.

I don’t think Cush is a lock by any means. I believe Hines can play C as well. If Ingram comes back then I could see:
OT Rosenthal
OG Ingram
C Hines
OGLewis
OT Charles
I also think Charles is better suited for RT. Rosenthal was an extremely highly rated LT prospect until he said he wanted to play DL. He clearly has the measureables for LT so if he puts it together then the OL could be beastly IMO.

Look, I ain't arguing where he *should* be, I left him there on account of the "why is he still starting" and "why is he still returning punts" questions I screamed at the TV all year, and the fact that he kept on playing no matter what he did. One would have to assume he's either in the Illuminati, or knows people high up in the organization.

Deculus has to be one of the worst 5 stars of all time
