We need more news like this to be leaked to get the heat off Daddy Wade.

This will be the ONLY difference between “us” and “them”, all the rest of em put someone in between to take the heat so they could claim no knowledge.
Wade’s biggest crime here was doing it on his own and getting himself on tape.

The major difference here, and the main reason I think LSU continues to look bad, is Wade is actually the one in our conversation.

He really messed up not using somebody else to do the dirty work. Rookie mistake. Hopefully it doesn't cost him too bad, because he is a great coach.

and it will be. Our stupid administrators couldn't take a few days of media heat though. The "outrage" would have gone away after a few days but no they had to suspend Wade and not play Smart bringing more attention to the story...fricking idiots!

I agree with you on this, Wade messed up there.

But, it is still very early. I think there will be some instances where other coaches are having direct contact with the middle man.

If Wade wouldn't have handled this like an amateur this wouldn't be as big as an issue for the Admin. Auburn showing their experience with cheating...

Problem with the linked story is

quote:

It’s unclear if what, if any, NCAA violations Allen or Bowman could have committed if proven true.

Its illegal to pay the players/family, there is no rule against the player/family paying the coaches.

This is just the beginning. Supposedly the April 22nd trial is going to be real nasty or greatness depending on your perspective. The NCAA is scared to death. Delicious

Rookie mistake or is it that Wade doesn’t have the name recognition the other do. These assts can throw names out like Self, K, Roy, Pearl, Barnes, etc and the players know who they are. Wade did have that luxury similar to Sean Miller at Ariz

It’s clear to me that WW wants to break into the good ole boys club of college coaches even though we wasn’t invited by them.

Sorry, but the head-in-the-sand routine being performed by Krzyzewski and North Carolina’s Roy Williams isn’t going to work anymore. The credibility of the sport is under withering assault in that courtroom, and there are still two more trials.

What’s being revealed isn’t some anomaly; in fact, everything about the evidence suggests it was altogether normal.

Just consider the text exchange between Gassnola and Self on Sept. 19, 2017, shortly after Kansas and Adidas had agreed to a new $191 million apparel deal.

After Gassnola thanked Self for helping complete the deal, Self responded “Just got to get a couple real guys,” seemingly referring to recruits.

Gassnola texted back: “In my mind, it’s KU, Bill Self. Everyone else fall into line. Too (expletive) bad That’s what’s right for Adidas basketball. And I know I’m right. The more you have lottery picks and you happy. That’s how it should work in my mind.”

Self responded: “That’s how (it) works. At UNC and Duke.”

Gassnola answered that it works that way at Kentucky, too.

“I promise you I got this,” he texted Self. “I have never let you down. Except (Deandre Ayton). Lol. We will get it right.”

no doubt. Regarding the auburn asst news, I told a friend that i actually liked being the first school to make the news. As others come to light, hopefully, LSU can fade away from the spotlight.

The fact that they have wade on tape is the only reason this is happening. It is most likely fatal for his LSU position unfortunately

We have the worst luck. Our coach is the only idiot calling up guys personally to cheat.

No they didn't, did you read the article?

It was about a parent paying a coach to put his son on the team at Penn. After the coach was dismissed he told another coach of his plan. The 2nd coach, who knew of the plan, now works at Auburn. None of this broke any NCAA rules, and didn't have an effect on Auburn.
