is the fattest guy there! 14% body fat. Second place is at 9.8%. He is the 3rd heaviest guy there. How much will this hurt his draft stock?

Didn’t he also gain a bunch of weight before the season started as a goal? Why?

Don’t have to be the fastest, just faster than the slowest

No he lost a good bit of weight before the season, all the guys were in the S&C program here and did pretty well. Reid IIRc lost like maybe 15-20 pounds. He was reported around 250.

Ah. I knew he underwent some type of weight change but forgot if he lost or gained weight.

Still wasn’t enough it seems.

Probably not as much as tripping over his own feet every other time down the court.

Not sure how they’re measuring body fat but it’s inaccurate anyway. Oshea Brissett is listed at 2.9% body fat which is A. Impossible and B. Double impossible for someone who looks almost identical to Naz Reid in a basketball uniform.

There’s a 0.00000% chance that there are college basketball players walking around at 2-3% BF and still functioning normally

I always thought Naz needed to gain some weight, not lose it.

He sure looked a lot taller than 6' 9" on TV. Maybe because our guards were so short.

yep, Naz fell down more than any player I can ever recall. Either out of control, or has very poor balance. Both are bad.

he'd be right at 10% if he got a haircut though.

His name was never predicated around superior athleticism in the first place. But some might argue the body fat issue is indicative of a lack of drive to be a great NBA player. The combine is these guys' biggest job interview and I think scouts/GM's/coaches would hope these guys would come in in the best shape possible. The knock on him as always been inconsistent effort. Being heavy doesn't help that concern.

Still, because he's not looked at as a tremendous athlete, being a bit heavy at the combine may not be as bad for him as it would be for others. Conditioning is something that can easily be fixed in the NBA. More concerning for me is that he measured under 6'10". He's going to be asked to play more at the wing in the NBA, which is going to required good conditioning and quickness.

He obviously has skill, but it's raw. A 6'9" stretch 4 with a lot of developing and average athletic ability is probably not a 1st round guy. Still, I'd be surprised if he doesn't get picked in the 2nd round. Despite flaws, he showed ability at LSU.

Tremont actually had the biggest hands out of any PG’s in the entire combine I beleive. Naz really should have considered returning a lot more than he did. I know “It was always the plan” but some things didn’t go the right way and he underperformed.
