National team titles claimed by current SEC institutions
The fourteen members of the Southeastern Conference claim over 200 national team championships in sports currently or formerly sponsored by conference members. The following totals include national team championships sponsored by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) from 1906 to the present, the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) from 1972 to 1982, and, in football, the Bowl Alliance, Bowl Coalition, Bowl Championship Series (BCS) and College Football Playoff (CFP) since 1992, as well as consensus national championships determined by the major football polls prior to 1992.
LSU – 46
Arkansas – 43
Florida – 40
Georgia – 37
Alabama – 25
Tennessee – 23
Auburn – 19
Texas A&M – 17
Kentucky – 12
South Carolina – 9
Vanderbilt – 4
Mississippi – 3
Missouri – 2
Mississippi State – 0
Amazing that LSU sits on top
Woodward stepped into a great tradition

I often feel confined by tradition, but in this case, this is the type of tradition that goes beyond confinement and must be embraced my friends

That is kind of surprising to me as well...also surprising to me that MS St has never won a national championship in any sport.

Link? I could have sworn we were passed a few years ago. Will gladly be proven wrong though.

Copied direct from Wikipedia and not trying to dog any SEC team but was totally surprised that LSU was on top and also to see Arkansas 2nd was amazed. The Hog fan base has always been great in support of their program.
Proud to be an LSU fan

On the Wiki page I saw Arkansas with 45?

Many championships in track, I think.

Where would everyone rank not incuding any track and field titles? They can just add up. More opportunities (4 each year) with men and women’s and indoor and outdoor.
I think they should count, just curious where we’d be if we excluded that sport from everyone titles.

If the 46 number is right, I’m seeing 43 on the wiki page, but we’ll roll with 46. LSU would have 15 non track titles. Not sure where that stacks up but that would be your baseline for LSU
ETA: 43 is the ncaa titles. The other 3 must come from the other parameters of the OP

Yeah I know what LSU would have. I don’t know how many T&F titles other schools have. I know Arkansas, Florida, A&M have several.

Baseball vs UCLA and Women’s Basketball twice.
State just can’t get it done. Ole Piss not much better.

This list seems off. According to the NCAA site, LSU has 43 titles without our football titles included. The NCAA is weird with the football titles because they don't sponsor a national champion in football, so they claim there is no official NCAA title for football. But they list the most credible poll choices for each year. With the football titles, LSU has 46. And LSU's football titles are legit.
