Charles McClendon: as a defensive specialist. I've never seen anything like him and NOTRE DAME AGREES.

Ed Orgeron invented many now commonly used inspirational tactics such as eating a worm, ripping off his shirt and challenging players to fight him and crushing Red Bull cans on his head.

Bill Snyder at Kansas state. His offense is as innovative as it gets.

In the 60s and through 1970, yes. That 1970 defense shut down that #1 offense of ND, but his defenses were never again as dominant in the rest of the 70s. I don’t know if it was a decline or if the competition just got better.

Yeah. That was a close game, but Mac didn’t fully shut down their O. Charles White as TB piled up some good yardage. Marcus Allen also played in that game as FB.
I recently met Marcus Allen at a fundraiser, and I asked him what he thought of that game.
He said: “We came back and won. We always did”

He can take his'n and beat yours'n, or he can take yours'n and lose to his'n.

Howard Schnellenberger's Miami teams of the early to mid 1980's. No one had seen an offense that was like that in college at the time. He produced Jim Kelly, Bernie Kosar and Blades among others
