Since my father very recently had a stroke and won't be able to travel to us in Atlanta my wife and I will be in town over Thanksgiving. Now we have the opportunity to give her the full "Saturday Night In Tiger Stadium" experience but we don't have tickets. 30 years ago when I lived in BR I would make up a sign saying I needed tickets and that usually worked out pretty well.
Is this still the best way to get into the game without paying ridiculous prices for tickets?

If you make a sign like that people will assume you're one of the scummy scalpers. Just hold up the number of tickets you want with you fingers near the gate or side of the stadium you'd most like tickets. Just make an offer and don't overpay. There will be several people selling.

Since the stadium's expansion, there have been plenty tickets available. You can find tickets under the ticket exchange on this site or simply go to the game and walk around the stadium an hour or so before kickoff and there will be plenty good tickets available at or below face value.

You can try stub hub or something, and LSU may even still have some available to buy from them.

Like other's have said though. Just walk around holding up with your fingers with the number of tickets you want to buy.

Hell, even if you don't do that you'll run into people selling tickets probably.

There will be tons of tickets. LSU fans aren't what they used to be.

Curious, how do you date and later marry a girl without going to a game?

Hope you're dad is doing well. With that said you should easily be able to find two decent tickets below face value.

Got two free tickets last weekend. I always just look outside the stadium. If I don't find any, I last minute stubb hubb. I got two to Auburn for $90 in the lower bowl that afternoon in StubHub.

Stubhub. That sign will get you nowhere.

Also how long has it been since you went to a game? I'm guessing 1993

Been to two games since I moved to Atlanta. Arkansas maybe 2007 and Auburn 2011 but neither of these were with her.

You'll be able to get all the tickets you want. For Auburn a guy told me he couldn't even give his tickets away. I held two extras up for awhile and never got one offer.
