I think Coach Orgeron should take a look at Brian Kelly he hired a young offensive coordinator last year away from Memphis who had only been at Memphis on year and he has drastically stabilized Notre dame’s offense. Orgeron should get Esminger some help to upgrade the offense if he doesn’t want to replace him.

No ones getting hired as OC before the start of next season.

I put it to rest.

Kelly is an offensive coach. He can bring in someone with less experience on that side if the ball. O cannot.

We are stuck with Ensminger. The most you can hope for is some staff changes under Ensminger.

I don't think Ensminger needs help w coaching - he's been doing this longer than many on Tigerdroppings are alive. However, he could use some help w his play calling. I don't know if he trys to outguess himself or what. To be as successful as you can be in this cut throat business you have to think outside the box and do things that are not expected. I have seen no evidence that he is willing to do that in all his time at LSU. ND game comes to mind, AtM in O.T. (particularly where all we needed was TD to win), and of course the double dose of zeroes against the Tide over the last 2 games. It's frustrating as hell to Tiger fans to watch. I think we have all seen enough. I know I have.

BTW: The guy is ALL IN for LSU. I think the philosophy needs to change - beginning with the head coach. The offense is capable of winning ball games. Don't leave it all up to the defense. Too risky and it's proven to be a bad formula for big time success.

Hi, sorry -- who the frick are you?

I'm glad you think your opinion is some kind of fiat declaration; it is not.

In the future, please manage to create an original argument when offering opinions as a fiat declaration. On this point, I believe I can safely assume support from 90% of those reading the rant.

Ensminger ain't out there blocking fellows.

Until we get NFL 1st round draft pick O linemen to block Bama's 1st round draft pick D linemen, it won't matter.

There are teams who have had success vs Bama who didn't have 1st rd draft picks all up-n-down the LOS.

That is not a per-requisite for offense's success.

One of the 'insiders' made this argument on the CC board -- no new OC, but Orgeron would bring someone in to function as a position coach / co-OC. I think Mike Lubick (Co-OC Washington) is in a similar position.

I'm in favor of anything that improves the offense, but I think hiring assistant coaches are a half-measure. LSU needs to put it's foot down and change directions.

LSU needs a drastic change offensively, a paradigm shift. You can't get that by recycling existing coaches into new roles. Fire the whole staff, get a new OC and let that OC pick the new staff.

What exactly are your credentials for this and what is your position in the athletic office? How long have you been employed there?

It’s a fair point that our Oline talent has been sub par compared to other positions

Sober... Ensiminger didn't miss the chipshot feild goal or throw the INT in his endzone either against Bama , which resulted in the shutout everyone is whining about either...

Don't try and spew that logic here...

Did Ensminger complete passes or run for yards or touchdowns in the UGA win?

get a new OC and let that OC pick the new staff.

Where does this happen?

No head coach is going to pass this responsibility off to an assistant. Sure, the OC can have input, but hire his own staff? LOL, no way.

Who would their boss be then?

how stupid..."let an OC pick his own staff"

NO! and NO to co-offensive coordinators ..
anything w two heads is a failure waiting to happen.

This offense had poor displays against far lesser teams than bama.

It's blatantly obvious that ORGERON prefers a PASSIVE style of offense. At A & M he had the chance multiple times to WIN THE GAME WITH OFFENSE. He is the head coach. Those conservative play calls were ultimately his decision. This is his PHILOSOPHY. It's pretty much the same as that of Les Miles. I don't see it changing.
