You do know he actually coached a team that came in and beat LSU right?

No shot.

The nail in the coffin for Jones is, on paper, next year's team isn't going to be any better. If he had a big recruiting class coming in, then maybe you could make an argument.

It's done. He's done.

Its starting to get like Les, posts went on and on and on for 4 years at least.

Les should have been fired approximately 4 years before he was....JJ should have been fired after last year so I'd say we are right on target here.

But it's his first lising season. And last year it was speculated that a decline to any postseason may come other than the 64tourney. The talk was always I wouldn't be surprised if they declined an NIT invite. You even had people on hete saying no way they get an NIT invite. LOL. They were kinda glad they declined the invite so they can now say LSU didnt make no postseason tourney with the #1 NBA PICK. These are the same people pretending to cheer for LSU but hide in their closet saying chants in hopes they lose their next game.

Lmao anchored.

Good job op. Good effort. Bye Johnny. I'd say "Don't let the door hit ya" but that require a defensive effort so...

I've had the same feelings although I feel there is no way to justify keeping him so I hope I'm wrong.

The scariest part is that Alleva would hire his replacement. So, what's the difference and why the rush to get rid of JJ?

Currently, there are 65 "Power 5" basketball programs (Big 10, Big 12, ACC, SEC and Pac 12). Only one of them (Oregon State) has a worse record than LSU.

Bad teams from major conferences pad their stats by playing Division II and III programs, and the chances of a losing record is very rare. This isn't like the Saints going 7-9 and being two close games away from a wildcard.

Stop saying this is his first losing season like this shite just happens to everyone.

If Alleva is that dumb, he will be run out of town along with JJ.

Would be worth it.

Lets see....JJ lost 2 big time recruits from Louisiana right under his nose for next year...then broke a school record held for 109 years at LSU...attendance was down to maybe 1000 by the end of the year and that was probably becuz of season ticket holders....no big name recruits coming to help save the day and you base your intuition on it was his "ONLY LOSING SEASON?....WOW, and you come here and post this shite...amazing bruh.....

Tarzana,
12 teams make the sec tourney.

Lsu is in 14th dead last.

Will not be invited to sec tourney. Also will not be invited to nit. Will not be invited to the cbi either. Would get thrashed by 2nd place mid majors anyway. The 4th cut tourney makes you pay to get in.

Then LSU should quit men's basketball. Fire Nikki or force her to take a pay cut. JJ is awful, keeping him shows no commitment to men's basketball and you can't pay a coach (Nikki) 750K per year for a program that loses 3.8 million a year. PMAC is empty for both anyway. Keeping Jones will keep it empty and women's basketball will never draw again.

High School Basketball is outdrawing LSU hoops this year. If Jones is retained, it would be an epic mistake from Alleva. There's not a single reason I can come up for not firing Johnny Jones based on last season and this season.
