My ONLY complaint of the 1st half.

Rebounding. Got to do a better job rebounding defensively. Their best play seems to brick their 1st shot, get the shooter to get it, pass it, and make another 3. Got to box out the shooter. Otherwise a good 1st half.

Yeah but they are bricking shots badly and they are getting fortunate caroms. It’s not so easy to do anything about that.

Also that we intentionally took ourselves out of a 2 for 1 at the end of the half

To be fair, Maryland's poor shooting was leading to a lot of long bounces off the rim. It wasn't due to poor effort or execution by LSU in most cases.

Lets hope Maryland’s shooting continues to be awful

Would you rather them make those 3’s or get a rebound

And stop fighting ourselves for the rebound.

The officials are letting them play which allows Days and Williams and Smart to play physical and stay in the game...we got this if the fouls are at a minimum.

Should have went 2 for 1 with 50 seconds left. Chalk that one up to no Frank Williams Wade!

Maryland isn’t getting any rebounds under the basket offensive or defensive...LSU is blocking them out big time...only rebounds Maryland has been getting are brick 3’s off the backboard or rim bouncing towards the top of the key... those you can’t help if everyone is under the basket...

They are playing a team that can match them physically. It’s not for lack of effort or execution it’s just that they’re not physically superior like they are against most other competition. They’re causing turnovers which is making up for the lack of rebounds that they may have gotten otherwise.

Long shots = long rebounds

Which means is moslty guards getting the rebounds, and the defensive guards will often have their back to the goal when the shot goes up and leaves them a second slower than the offensive guard who can see the ball coming off the rim

It happens

The second chance 3's are what's keeping Maryland in the game. It's not for lack of effort by LSU though. They are mostly lucky long bounces for Maryland off of misses.
