A option QB owned LSU back in the early 80s. Is Fitzgerald the new John Bond?

There will never be another John Bond. I watched that offense destroy LSU four years in a row. Those were very frustrating games.

I think their kicker that beat us one game was Dana Moore from Broadmore High.

The week after 20-10 and finally "Skinning the Bear," no less.

Thanks for the kick in the nuts.

1984 wasn’t Bond. It was Orlando Lundie from Bogalusa. Tough loss but he was quite elusive.

Yep. He worked for an employment agency in BR in mid ‘80s and helped me get my first job after graduating LSU. He apparently wasn’t recruited by LSU and seemed to still be enjoying his game winning kick.

Actually it was Mississippi State's coach at the time, Emory Bellard, that owned LSU. He was a master at coaching an option oriented offense having previously invented the wishbone as the offensive coordinator at Texas. Including his time as head coach at Texas A&M and Mississippi State, he was 7-4 against LSU, and his option offenses always gave LSU fits.

Jerry Stovall started calling John Bond "James Bond" because the tigers couldn't catch him.
