not a rival until LSU wins a little more consistently

team that brings out the most emotion....yes....rival no....

LSU is probably more on the current OM/UF level

Florida doesn't even feel like a rival anymore. We own them

Well looking at all the rival SEC matchups and assuming everyone played their rival on the last game of season it looks like LSU and Arkansas would be only two left to pair off. Old traditional rivals were Tulane and Ole Miss but now, not so much. LSU does not have one team that would be deemed their rival.

It's a hierarchy.

Ole Miss looks down upon MSU in every aspect. Particularly football. Thus, beating MSU is not perceived as some great accomplishment. It's seen as what Ole Miss is "supposed" to do.

However, they feel looked down upon by LSU (and they are probably right). Thus, beating LSU is seen as a major accomplishment. So I think you are right, they love beating LSU more than they hate losing to Miss. St.

In other words, Ole Miss is "Jan" in the Louisiana/Mississippi household.

It’s not a “rivalry” when you dominate it like we do Ole Miss. it’s been absurdly dominated by us since 1970.

Ole miss and Arkansas for sure as there are actual trophies for it. Bama became a rival the last 20 years because of Saban, I honestly think that fizzles out. Feel like Florida and aTm are always tense.

Football, basketball, baseball.

we have played Arkansas a dozen times more than Auburn

yeah, but the Auburn games have all been:
more at stake
more memorable
more bad blood

we've also played: Tulane, Rice, and Kentucky more often than we've played Auburn, but you wouldn't call any of them our rivals.

and we've played Mississippi State more than we've played anyone else in our history. But they're not at the top of our list of rivals.

The real answer is who do you hate losing to the most?

For me it is whoever would keep us out of the seccg.
Early 2000s auburn
Since 2007 bama

Bama and Ole Miss simply bc we have played them way more than any other SEC with exception of MSU.

Auburn and Florida would be next tier…prior to the divisions we didn’t play Auburn or Florida that much.

Arkansas and A&M next tier.

Arkansas.

We have an actual trophy for the game. They would say the same about us.

Bama has auburn
Ole miss has miss st
Florida has several ahead

Edit: we have also played them for over 100 years.

On a related note ~ we’ll probably be playing OU to end the season for the foreseeable future unless Bedlam gets reinstated.

Or they could flip it and give us Arkansas and have Mizzou end with OU.

‘02 alum - Bama, Auburn, Florida until recently. Ole Miss and A&M have replaced Auburn and Florida as of 2019-2020 or so.
