Wtf? He has really good pocket presence. ALL qbs take hits. I'm guessing you are a BH fan and probably think it is a race thing.

Wtf? Is right...what LSU fan in there right mind would prefer Harris to Etling? My favorite QB alltime is Joe Montana dude. How did you get race out of my comment or anything else negative baffles me.
Anyway I'm saying "pocket presence" for Etling looks more like a B or B+, he's getting blown up from the frontside on his major hits/sacks. But, he is far better in the pocket that we've had in the last 5 years.

Compared to Jefferson, Jennings, and Harris.. yeah, etling is undoubtedly a difference maker

That's why so many people are excited. QB has been bad for us for awhile. We're just glad to see one who can make some throws without so much effort.

Cool breakdown, but what do you mean by "Passing Vision"?

I think throwing lanes

The O-line creates the throwing lanes, the only guess I have now is finding an open player after the play breaks down.

Back to Moscona. His fake rants about fake cubs fans can stop. He is so childish with that shite. It's not funny. It's not even kind of funny where you smile a little. It's lame.

I'm not real big on assessing the intelligence of a player based on his play on the field
I don't use the word "heady" to mean he's necessarily intelligent.

More, to mean he seems to keep his head in the play and not lose his cool. You can be smart and spastic as frick while in the pocket.

Regarding your later points about him tending to go to his first read so, you don't seem much in his pre-snap decision making.

Um. Quite often, pre-snap will affect where your first read is. IE, the first read on a play may vary depending upon defensive alignment. The ability to recognize the defense properly allows you to ensure you go to your reads correctly.

And that's just the reads for which receiver is #1. There are also reads the QB must get right to anticipate pressure so he knows if the ball is going to have to come out early or if he's going to have to go to a hot read.

And really, that's all just scratching the surface.

He appears to do the above things very well which helps him overcome the fact that he doesn't have a cannon. The best cure for an average arm is not being late with the ball. Especially on shorter stuff.

That's what I'm talking about, "Danny Etling, LTD"

You really are ignorant. If etling plays like he has played the last 3 games, LSU will run the table. You are acting like he needs to play much BETTER. How the fk did we go to overtime with bama in 14 with Jennings then? Etling is light years ahead of Jennings and Harris and Jefferson in terms of executing the offense and making accurate throws. To deny this means you are likely BH or aj. All LSU has ever needed was solid qb play. We have that with him. Period.

You really think that Etling is gonna be the reason we run the table... He may be a big part of it, but thinking HE is gonna be the reason shows how stupid you are. AND you are a race baiter...Hollow........

First off Harris isn't bad, if he was so bad thry would've never fired Cam Cameron, and deemed it all Harris fault. Remember the Auburn game this year with cam calling plays Danny look awful as well. Trust me I know QB play Cam was the problem.

Moscona needs to blow his shows format up and start over. It's the same thing day after day, week after week. His best hour is with Theriot and he destroys it by trying way too hard to be boys with Ryan.

I've gotten sick of Russ Mitchell too

Man this is spot on. He's really bad when he tries to "bro up" with his guests that played sports. Also, I liked Mitchell the first few times I heard him on. That wore off quick. He gets old.

You keep lumping Jefferson in here and you're just plain wrong. Whether you're capable of admitting it or not, Jefferson in 2009 was arguably the 2nd best year of QB play since Jamarcus Russell. The only full season since then that was better was Mett in 2013. Jefferson was a better QB than Flynn was in 2007.

Also, before you claim this is some sort of racial bias, I argued for Lee to play until I was blue in the face in 2010 and 2011.

Saying Etling is better than Harris or Jennings is hardly much of an accomplishment at this point. Saying he is on par with Jordan Jefferson, particularly his 2009 season, is not the insult you think it is.

JJ was a damn tough Tiger...and I respect what he did for the team...he gave his best that he could...he just had a limited field vision...and some things just can't be fixed...jmho

He wasn't great by any means. He had his flaws. So does Etling. Etling has infinitely more pocket presence, for instance. However, for all of JJ's flaws, he turned out a solid 2009 and did so under Miles and Crowton.

You have no argument with me...I just hate for so-called fans to keep dissing JJ...LES chose him to lead the Tigers, not me...I've backed the move to DE from the get go...'cause BH hasn't shown the leadership to win in college...it is what it is!

I'm still puzzled why he(JJ) regressed so much in 2010.

His stretch post UNC game till maybe bama was one of the worst stretches I've ever seen for a QB

you don't get rocked in the pocket like he has with "A" pocket presence
that hit in the ole miss game came from a pass rusher that was literally unlocked. There was no time for Etling to do anything.
