Mortgaging our future
We signed 2 JUCO o-linemen, 1JUCO DE, 1JUCO kicker, and are looking for transfers to fill the class.
This is not how you build a sustainable program. It is a win now at all costs philosophy—much like not getting Brennan valuable playing experience last year when playoffs were out of reach after the Troy loss.
I guess signing JUCO players is one way around the problem of early attrition every year for Junior class to the NFL.
This will come back to haunt us.

our future

Our future was doomed the moment Alleva tucked his tail and ran away from Herman right into the loving arms of Orgeron.

Well if Coach O doesn't win now he doesn't have a job. Hell if any coach doesn't win in 2 years they are fired. Unless your team is completely in the dumps this whole hey guys were building for the future excuse really doesn't resonate with the fan base well. Especially when the prices are getting more expensive every year.

Supposedly the 2019 class is loaded with instate talent...am I correct that a single class can only take in 25? If you have over 25 the extra spots must be transfers?

Signing jucos is something I actually wished Les would have done more of. If managed correctly it can be a big boost to depth immediately.

If those schollies get filled by a Cam Newton or Russel Wilson, O looks genius.

Just judge what you see in the field, and live a happy life until football gives you reason to complain.

1JUCO kicker,
Worse than that, he's a graduate transfer that will only be here for 1 year. It doesn't hurt as bad now that we didn't sign a full class, but we should be going after 4 year special teams players, not a graduate transfer that counts against the scholarship limit.

That being said, we desperately need a good kicker. I hope his 1 year here can be a successful one.

I don't like O and the signing class was disappointing, but isn't this what they should be doing? Plan A didn't work out. They opted to not have a plan B. So being in the situation you are in, shouldn't they be grabbing some JUCO talent? If they didn't, wouldn't there be more complaining? It's not plan A. They're on plan C now. They'll still put forth a plan A next year, hopefully a good one but probably disappointing again.
