I like what Paul Brown said to Tommy - that Coach Mac was an "enigma" to the NFL, because his teams competed and won with nothing much as far as future NFL stars compared with the (then) biggies like ND, Colorado, or Nebraska. Tommy said that Coach Mac had them believing that not only could they win, but that they should win!

He was LSU's greatest coach in my lifetime, even though there wasn't a lot of hardware and trophies - there were enough. And there was glory.

If any Tiger coach deserves a statue on campus, Coach Mac really does.

This Tiger team does NOT believe they can win. Hope is their strategy.

Bama 31-10.
