All of those guys would win the SEC, and beat Saban every year?

Except for Saban, I would not trade Miles for any of them, including Meyer and Kelly. Meyer was not crap without Tebow. He got his arse handed to him by Saban much worse than Miles has, IMO. What did Kelly do? Sure, he dominated the PAC 10 for a few years while cheating and lost in the BCS CG once. Got OU on probation and sanctions.

All of those guys would be an improvement from Miles. No one expects to beat Saban every year or win the SEC every year. I believe those coaches would get the most out of our talent each year.

What separates Saban from others is his recruiting ability not coaching ability. Any of those coaches with the same or better talent would consistently beat Saban, and that includes Miles. We don't live in a hypothetical world. Recruiting is a huge part of being a head coach.

Based on what? Record? Nope. Recruiting? Nope. Championships? Nope. Just based on that's what YOU believe. So what. You don't know jack.

So being lucky makes you good? Okie state losing to a huge underdog and getting a second chance at a team that beat you at your place makes you good? All the teams that lost last season to let them in makes Saban good? Oklahoma losing to Kansas St in 2003 let LSU in. I don't deny that Saban is a great coach but to overlook how fortunate he has been, while playing a weak schedule, is ridiculous
2007 ring a bell ? without 2007, where does miles rank?

the only way I could rationaly agree with this post is if RP and TM7 would have fully shouldered their responsibilities to the program and if we did not suffer an injury plague and mass junior exodus like we did last year. how is it possible to attain the so-called saban/meyer/kelly status much less keep continuity and measured development when heisman candidate/team leaders/first rounders either flame out, go on the DL or bail for the bucks?
we did, he bailed for the bucks. as good as he was, make no mistake about it, he benefitted greatly by the fact that bama was in dissaray and suffering from well earned ncaa sanctions. Miles has not had the luxury of competing in an environment where your strongest adversary is suffering from self-inflicted wounds.
in no way is a this a defense of Miles cause I have my own issues with him but more a view that says, even though I'm not happy with the status quo, I can rationaly look below the surface and understand that much of this has not been of his making.
that said, Miles should be on notice that time-management issues like at om will no longer be tolerated and the leash that he built with his stellar win% is being shortened by repeated lax efforts and fan discontent.

Other programs reach elite status because they hire an elite coach. FSU and Miami if Florida is down.

How many chances does Miles get man I mean really? It's not like this was the first time. Clock management is a problem every year. Please tell me you don't really think Miles is a great coach. People spout off his record and its just old and plain stupid. We did not have this kind of talent prior to Miles. Even Saban didn't have it. 2005 was ok not great. 2006 was a championship wasted. 2007 was complete luck. 2008 and 2009 were awful. 2010 was exciting but average. 2011 was a great coaching year in my mind but the national championship game completely ruined it. 2012 was another disappointing season and this year and don't even have to mention. Ayers get hurt, suspended, leave early, graduate with EVERY school. He's not a great coach. He's average at best and we're being punished because our AD paid him like he was an elite coach.

Easy to say and impossible to prove.
What can be proven is that Miles has guided LSU during a time when the SEC is the very most dominate college conference in the nation and has helped LSU achieve a success never reached at LSU before and a success that easily places LSU football as one of the Top 5 programs in the nation since 05.
I find our success under Miles to be remarkable, all things considered, and its a shame he gives better to LSU than some LSU "fans" give him in return.

You are one sad dumbass you know that?
Kiffen? What kind of moron talks about Kiffen being better than Miles and then tries to tell people he knows football?
Go back to your trailer park. Log off the AOLs. And please just go become a gump because that's the level of stupid you apparently are.

Probably not, but he runs a good program.

Who could LSU hire who could run a program any better?
The biggest reason to keep Miles is that his teams haven't done badly enough to replace him with anyone available.

Louisiana is a small state. Don't group our program with the likes of Ohio Texas and Florida. You can not compete in the sec on la talent alone.
Example, where are the qbs? Where are the linebackers? The d tackles? They sure aren't in Louisiana.

Here is a lil tidbit for you. Since 2002, how far back rivals goes, FSU has out recruited LSU. Yet they aren't on LSUs level since miles became coach. So you want jimbo fisher, who has more talent than Miles, as our coach? Remind me how many bcs bowls he's won? How many bcs titles does he have? Didn't he lose to nc state? Nc fricking state!!!! Come on man. Mikes has won the hardest division in college football 3 times. Say it with me, 3 fricking times. Show me a better coach other than saban. You can't.

Easy dgnx, easy.
If folks could just be reasonable, there is plenty to debate.....but reason left long ago.
Last night, people were swearing off the program because the backup didn't get enough reps!

Although he is at his dream job, would love to see Pat Fitzgerald at LSU.

Yes, why shouldn't I be? I want my team to do well, as opposed to some of you dipshits who wish we'd lose every game just to justify your irrational hatred of the coach.
If you get in a car wreck, and you're happy no-one got hurt, by your definition of "happy" are you then glad you got in a wreck?
