re: Mid season hot seat..guess who is #1 on the list
There are those who have said if you take out the perfect season O's record is simply meh. Average coach in a conference that rolls out elite talent week after week. There have been those that don't like this take because they say it's not fair to take out his perfect season. That season occurred with O as the head coach and he deserves the credit. However, the value of stripping out that season is because in 2020 and again 2021, O did not have the elite support system he had in 19. With that taken out you are left with a case study on his true coaching abilities. No one to prop him up. That body of work has not been impressive and he has not shown the ability to coach at a level necessary to compete. Other programs have shifted and are passing us by. What we are seeing these past couple of years is the true ability of coach O and it's just not going to work. I hate it because I really wanted things to work out for him.

It was fun for a moment, but the moment is gone.

#LSU fans do realize that the whole mid-season firing/toxic fanbase thing is the whole reason the Tigers had so much trouble replacing Les Miles, right?

What Mark Stoops has done at KY is impressive. He’s a no nonsense pure football coach with zero baggage. He gets the most out of his talent.

I’d rather stay away from the “baggage” coaches…Freeze, Meyer, etc. Riley’s not leaving OU, doubt if Franklin’s leaving Penn State. Kiffin will have to prove himself at UM before I’d consider him…his track record isn’t that impressive. That brings me to Stoops. Knows the SEC, has HC experience there, and he’s winning with lesser talent against teams that recruit 4/5 stars. And, he’s baggage-free.

I may be mistaken but I thought I read it and heard it during a game that he’s not interested in being a head coach.

I love people that pay attention to LSU for 15 minutes and then has grand opinions about how the program should operate. The mid-season/toxic fanbase had nothing to do with O's hire. Here is the reason for O's hire:

I flat out cannot watch a game with that piece of shite James Franklin on the sideline.

People bitch about other coaches and title 9 implications but want to hire a coach who had a rape situation at fricking Vandy

I mentioned James Franklin years ago, before he ever went to Penn State. I was ridiculed like crazy.

Would anyone disagree with that assessment?
