I give CEO poor marks for his first season - The hire of a OC that will not give you your desired offensive sets seems to be on the stupid side and I can't explain it. The only thing I can see in this is that in the beginning is that Canada sold him he can run a system based on his talent. I am not sure what happened but it seems that Matt might have issues. I think Matt got fired or forced out of a job when his team that year did well but he moved on after just one year. The haters blame the failure of Matt on CEO but Matt I am sure had a hand in it(maybe NCstate). Matt is gone and the hiring of what CEO thinks is a sure thing is 100% on him. His job is in the hands of Steve E. It is put up or get fired time. CEO will not be fired after 2 years unless we have 5 to 6 losses this season.

I see this team as having the foundation for great success with play makers on D with depth. Offense is a work in progress with new QB and Steve taking over. I hope to see one of the 3 new QBs step up to run what Steve wants to run.
If we don't gain a passing game early in this season, CEO will be cooked by the time Georgia and Bama roll around. If we have lost 4 games by the time we play aTm that game could swing one more season for O. Of course I hope to see things come together early because a 1-2 start for O would look very ugly with Florida / Georgia / Bama still in front of you.

I am pulling for a 3-0 start and that is what I think we will do. the Canes and Auburn will be run first teams and our D should be a nightmare for both of these teams.

I agree with you on being a fan of LSU and not Orgeron.
As far as “until he shows you he shouldn’t be the head coach” I think some took last season as he shouldn’t be the head coach.
You could say he hasn’t done much to prove he should be the head coach either, so you should understand why some have the opinions they have. Doesn’t mean they’re wrong.
And some haven’t gotten over the hire purely out of frustration.
Take myself as an example. I don’t hate Orgeron, I don’t even hate he’s the head coach. I hate the way our administration handled the hire. I hate that they settled and made little effort to attain a proven head coach.
I hate the fact Orgeron had lied on numerous occasions about getting the best coordinators and settling again.

So in closing, I’m an LSU fan, like many here, who believes LSU and it’s fans deserve better. Just because Orgeron hasn’t failed or succeeded yet, doesn’t mean they’re isn’t plenty to be frustrated over. Especially when we haven’t been able to see where it’s headed yet.
Winning cures all, let’s hope Orgeron can succeed and erases all the concerns mentioned above. Until then you’re going to have to accept fans being critical of things.
