Mettenberger not on Manning Award watchlist

Five SEC quarterbacks were among the 30 named to the Manning Award watch list. In a mild surprise, LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger was not among them.
Highlighting the list from the SEC were last year's winner and Heisman Tropphy winner Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M, Alabama's AJ McCarron, Georgia's Aaron Murray, South Carolina's Connor Shaw and Bo Wallace of Ole Miss. Louisiana-Lafayette quarterback Terrance Broadway also made the list.

Hopefully Cam will call for more that three pass routes, which would be different than last year. Mett may not be perfect, but our passing game has been very junior high-ish since the end of 2008. The low passing numbers aren't all Mett's fault.

I am sure that Zach doesnt care what the Mannings opinion of him is. Zach is a solid QB. If he stays healthy, he will have a great year.

All of those on the list deserve to be ahead of him. However, the awards are his to EARN reducing these watchlists to nothing.
I hope to see him thrive with Cam and truly state his case.
