One OL recruit in an entire recruiting class is poor. Signing 3 total in 2 years (2013-14) is really bad. Not so much a narrative in this instance but the truth. Not to mention only 1 of his 2015 class amounted to much. Les was not great at evaluating OL recruits.
You’re talking about DL right?
DL recruiting from 2013-2015 was terrible. #1 reason O was brought in. Brick really sucked at the end, but I understand Les keeping in. Around. He turned a Brockers and Logan into NFL DTs from Les ranked DE, but he just couldn’t close on DL his last few years here.
OL recruiting is something else.
I still Think we don’t do our OL any favors.
Predictability makes it hard to block.

Tillery was because we recruited him at Oline and Notre Dame told him that they would let him play Dline.
Obviously I don't know the full history but I thought Tillery was sold on ND from way back whatever position we wanted him at.

Yeh not much they could have done on Tillery. The family was all ND
Ferguson and especially Ford really hurt
Gotta figure having Ford helps you win the Florida game.

I remember watching Ferguson's film and scratching my head why we didn't offer. We were really light at LB and DL that class too. Couldn't figure it out.

There was also that OL from West Virginia that made it through a few workouts and then bolted back to the hills. Seth Stewart- missed on him as well...
From what I can find he just gave up football. listed at 6'8" or 6'9" and 320; weird.

We have five current OL commits...

Hard to blame them. Notre Dame is a fantastic academic school with an alumni network that is tough to beat.

Weathersby is the only one since Hawkins to give any productive minutes at OT.

Les recruited the following OL that were drafted
2009: Herman Johnson - 5th round
2011: Joe Barksdale (recruited as a DL) - 3rd round
2014: Trai Turner - 3rd round
2016: Jerald Hawkins - 4th round
2016: Vadal Alexander - 7th round
2017: Ethan Pocic - 2nd round
2018: Will Clapp - 7th round
I'll give him a pass on La'el Collins for obvious reasons of why he wasn't drafted being out of anyone's control. But 7 OL drafted (none being 1st round picks and most being day 3 guys) in 11 classes he signed is not the mark of someone who recruited the position well at a school like LSU, regardless of how funny you seem to think that notion is.
Compare those numbers to Alabama. In that same time frame, they have had 13 OL drafted with 5 first round guys.

Where did I say Orgeron has done a good job? I simply said Les didn't. No need to create counter arguments to arguments that weren't ever made.

3 guys still in college with their value yet to be determined
You don't think 4 years is enough time to determine the value of a 2015 signee?

We were talking 2 different things, as it turned out. I was listing OT's in response to another post. The guy that responded said OL We had 4 OT's over every 2 year period so far under O, which I think is fine.

Brick sucked period. When you have not one, but two NFL teams publicly question what they're teaching defensive lineman at their school because their technique is so poor, your DL coach blows.
Edit: he was the best though at supposedly coming in second for every big time DL recruit, so I'll give him that.

A couple of those guys are elsewhere, so they are definitely not producing for LSU and I can't tell you how they are performing. But I guess I was saying their worth is still to be determined relative to their whole college tenure. You do have a point though, that should be enough time to have a good idea of their worth barring a sort of switch flip moment.

I honestly don't know the answer to that, I would like to see the comparison to schools other than the top level school. I looked that up as best I could.
these are the 12 teams that had more than 7. Note 7 of those teams only had 1 more, at 8. If we say Collins gets drafted (probably first round) if the BRPD decide not to be douche bags, then Les has 8 and only 5 teams have more. Your numbers sound bad but really are not.
Alabama 13
Florida 10
Florida State 10
Iowa 10
Wisconsin 10
Baylor 8
Miami (Fla.) 8
Notre Dame 8
Ohio State 8
Oklahoma 8
Texas Christian 8
Utah 8

So many have taken to crapping on Miles to bolster Orgeron, I have gotten a bit cynical, I suspect. My apologies.

Can we have no LSU players get drafted by NFC South teams? K thx
Well, the Saints would be nice.
But since we all know that's not going to happen, yeah I agree with you.
