No I get it, I've been around for years. I just didn't post until couple weeks ago. It used to piss me off the level of negativity here, it's rampant.... then I realized, of course it is....after all the name is tiger shite. Guess everyone has a shitey attitude? ?? Lol

Only questions i have, can they play defense against better competition, can they clean up the sloppy play

Above all the other positives, loved how we were aggressive defensively till the very end. This team should be fun to watch and might surprise some ppl. Solid start

we did a good job trapping, switching, and playing aggressively on ball. i do think we need to dial it down a tad to not overcommit and leave shooters open.

you want to be aggressive, but not undisciplined

Where did you get this inaccurate information? Tareltons first games was SMU and the final was 96-76. It was a close game until deep in the second half. So since you're trying to throw negative shade on our guys at least tell the truth.

Exactly. LSU has won games at the beginning of the last 2 years but it still seemed like a struggle to score. It’s amazing what a competent PG can do for you. I’m not impressed because LSU won by 30. I’m impressed by how they did it. Lots of assists. Good ball movement. Good shots. Don’t think I saw a single bad shot. Aggressive defense. They still have work to do to compete with better talent but they are starting from a higher floor than last to years. Question will be what’s the ceiling.

While I agree about the shooting, effort, and depth. I don’t really agree about the defense or rebounding yet.
It does appear we are a much much better passing team. The competition wasn’t very good. So until we see a trend, I suppose we don’t know. The turnovers have been a recurring theme for the last few seasons so that is concerning. Overall it’s good to see them do what they are supposed to do instead of sputter.

They beat ULM by an almost identical score to open last season (95-60)…then struggled to beat Alabama St in the very next game.

LSU did some good things tonight and shooting 70% is tremendous regardless of competition. But I’d hold off on crowning them a great team just yet. We’ve seen this before. In fact, just last year

That’s the problem with you guys. Nobody’s crowning them a great team LOL. Just pointing out some positives and differences from last 2 years. This is his best PG of his tenure. That has been the biggest weakness of every team he has had. And last year they couldn’t even hit wide open 3’s. Don’t think that will be the case this year.

Watching Mackinnon and Thomas play was so much easier on the eyes.

They definitely seem more like Matt McMahon style guards than what he's been having in his tenure.

Gave up 9 offensive rebounds in the first 9 minutes and then like only 2 after that. That's good to see, rebounding has been a pain in the arse the last few years

If you go back and look at the ULM-LSU thread you’d see a lot of the same superlatives as you see here. The next game it was a 6 point game vs Alabama state with 5:00 to go. Two years ago they won the season opener by 46. They lost to Nichols in the next game.

The point is a big win in the opener has never been a harbinger of great things to come.

I get what you’re saying I do but let’s try and at least be hopeful that it’s a different story this year

Yes. In year 2, Cook was better that Hill from year 1.Dedan Thomas is much better than Cook was, even if Cook was eligible to start and didn't wig out.

Do you not think that Dedan is a legit good point guard?

I never said that. I just think people are making huge assertions from one game. He's good.

him and coleman are by far the worst players i've ever seen put on a LSU jersey
