Not sure why you're laughing. Just based solely on Stats, Les' offense scored more points than Canada's.
If you want to argue about the difference in talent, i'll buy that. I think Canada's offense will do fine at LSU, but i think everyone is pumping him a little too much, based on his history. He had one really good year, and a whole bunch of 'meh' years.

Because its one of the most legitimately funny things I've ever read on the rant.
Watch both offenses.

conceded that Canada has never had the athletes that he has at LSU, but at many of his stops he was not playing against our level of competition.
That's not what is most important. It is important to know what the RELATIVE talent gap is.
Example (assume higher number is better)
If LSU O talent is 9 and Opponent is 7
And Canada O talent is 4 and Opponent is 5
Then, "equal results" means Canada did better. Yes, LSU has better and played against better. But, LSU had a +2 and Canada had a -1 to go against.
Think of it as Headwind vs Tailwind. The 100 meters is the same length....one is "easier" to run fastest with.

Fair enough. I'll stop being negative. Canada's offenses will probably be better than we've had. Not a difficult thing to do.

Yeah. Pretty low bar.

Just curious, how will the offense work with true freshmen on the offensive line? I think it's a fair question and one that is a reality this team will face.
Hmm...who are the true freshman starting on our offensive line?

I agree with you here a little Rickdaddy. The huge change will not be in the final snap but in the pre snap. There is no denying this. What motions do for an offense is huge. It tells you how the defense will attack the offense, whether they are in zone or man, who's got who and how they plan to attack the offense.
This gives a huge advantage to the OL, QB, RB, WRs basically the offense as a whole. The defense has to keep moving, or adjusting to the offenses personnel, and if they can't figure that out its a big play. Even if they think they have it figured out it makes them think, you snap the ball while their still thinking, a man gets lost or they are focused on (1) particular player and another player is lost.
That's what this offense is designed to do and it will work against anyone, even Bama. It may not work as well or as often against better teams but it will work enough to score more points then we're used to.
Now Aranda can take more chances, the kids play with more confidence, faster, tougher, and with more awareness. Add that to the fact that LSU and staff want to be more aggressive on ST and LSU can add points or take points away in that department as well. This is going to be some of the most fun football we've seen from LSU in a long long time. I haven't heard one coach that's ever played him say that this hire hasn't elevated LSUs offense in their opinion. Nor have I heard them say that the way this offense is presented will look remotely close to what Cam and Les ran here. It's a massive difference in the way it's presented which will be huge for LSU. I do agree that at the snap it will be somewhat simular but much more effective. GT

It was getting pretty sad when 8 out of 10 drunks starring at the TV knew what play was coming
I promise you they can't call the gap, man or zone block, or primary route 75% correct.
These are the posters spouting toss "dive" when it's been 95% power lead toss.

Regardless of what our fans thought, the SEC defense's had a bead on our offense. Every defense and coach said the same things. "They just run right at you" "dare you to stop them" "smash mouth football" ect. Physically it was a challenge for most teams, mentally it was not. This offense however, especially ran with LSU personnel will be both mentally and physically challenging to every team we face. Huge difference

The route concepts will be different as well. The way in which the calls are made will be different. There was never any kind of real rythme for the QB in Cam's offense but in this offense there will be an emphasis on giving our QB easy throws to start then build off of this rythme. It gets the entire offense into a rythme, again a huge change from the last regime. It's going to make a massive difference IMO. We'll see when the dirt starts flying what is truly different about our offensive scheme, and I know it will be much more effective for LSU. Lots of points will be scored this year, and I'm excited to watch it all unfold.

I always thought Miles underused complimentary horizontal toss plays to keep emol and LBs guessing/hesitating.
Without horizontal threat ,the only assets were mostly RB vision for zone runs and QB seal backside.

Looking at a season when you score is more important than how much you score. Canada is not here to hit a ppg benchmark, he's here to produce in big games.

Yes, it will be. It won't be so predictable. That's a massive change.
i'm so damn excited for us to try something different
we should have mopped the floor with Wisconsin in that opener
We'll look back at the 2016 roster in 10 years and wonder how we lost any games. I think there were 8-10 future Pro Bowlers on the roster.

That's why many teams chose to crash LBers. They had no fear of us using the field behind them. Better to eliminate an option (a gap) or be disruptive (in the backfield) rather than out of the play.
One reason I DO like the toss dive. Can read that LBer and put him at max disadvantage many times. UGA uses it for the same reason with the same capable backs.

I found a leaked image of Canada's main formation. Emphasis on keeping linemen healthy through the year.

Most points in a season and unsurprisingly (to me) only NCG appearances this century.
'13 @ 465 was very close considering one less game, but the D was lacking.

Oh, well thats good to know.
i'm just trying to temper expectations. Remember, Gary Crowton was a broyles finalist and was thought of by this board as 'the wizard'.

It's so funny watching you repeatedly do the same bizarre shite:
1. Say something completely subjective and make your stupid opinion on (insert subject here) known.
2. Act surprised when people call you a fricking retard (you are) and spin as hard as possible to make your random bullshite argument seem credible while calling everyone else "football ignorant"
3. Post a bunch of random stats that have nothing to do with your argument and attempt to portray them as supporting your dumb arse argument
4. Completely ruin a good thread because you can't shut the frick up and keep your idiotic wannabe-contrarian opinion known, even though you have no tangible reason to believe that you're right
Please get a fricking life and stop ruining every thread that you participate in
