Why extend him when you don’t need to?

Do you know who is pitching on Sunday?
Posted on 4/9/21 at 7:50 pm to Northwest Louisiana
Why take him Out? You're 5 outs away up 7.

Forget Sunday. Who is going to close this out once Marceaux leaves?

1. He will come out around 100 pitches, just like every other week. He's not being extended more than normal.
2. He's pitched well up to this point.
3. The less we have to use our bullpen on Friday, the better off we are on Saturday and Sunday.
Is that enough reasons to answer your idiotic question?

Easy, big fella...

Congratulations on finding something to complain about.

Well you asked.. he answered your dumb question. There's your answer.

Because you want to slowly extend your starters into the 105-110 pitch range for late season.
Ever watch verlander pitch throughout a year? By beginning of september he routinely hits 110 pitches and still throwing 95-97mph

Thank you for that response.

Shut up! My biggest pet peeve with Paul was how he would take out red hot pitchers cause he was a slave to his preplanned rotation...this was refreshing!

Yeah, he's never done this with a weekend starter in SEC play. If they are pitching well, with no other injury issues, they have always been extended around the 100 pitch mark if they are doing well.
If you are talking about early in the season, then sure. Are you suggesting that we just let them come out firing 100 pitches in Feb because they are throwing well?

NWLA
CPM gets his arse busted enough from some of bonehead coaching he does but no need to throw this kind of silly shite out as a post just to try and bust his arse even more when it is actually a valid coaching decision. It's called trying too hard...enjoy the win and take another toke.

OP makes a decent point Marceaux is such a treasure right now we just all want to protect him and UK had no chance today. Was great to see Trent Vetmier come in and pitch so well.

Trents last 2 outings have been good IIRC
