He could have left Reynolds in tonight as he was throwing decent, but chose to "get someone else some work"

He does this crap every season, and adds around 3 or 4 losses each year.

We scored 4 runs and were aided by errors to get there. Pitching is not the problem. Bases loaded 1 out and we get 1 run from error that was the problem tonight.

Imo mid week games always have to/are going to be whole staff games. You hope for 3-4 innings out of at least 1 pitcher throughout the game but no team has 4 pitchers that will consistently go deep into games.

And I'd rather go whole staff and possibly drop a meaningless game then burn an arm ahead of an SEC series that I might have been able to use in that series, even if it's in a rare extra inning game that has much more importance.

Not sure he is conceding. I thought for sure he said before the season he would take the midweek games more serious.

These games are damn near meaningless in the grand scheme of things. We'll be clicking when conference play gets here:

I'm not quite sure it's indirect.

This way of coaching always bites us in the arse in postseason when we have no developed fourth guy.

Fourth guy?

I don't remember the last time we had a reliable THIRD starter.

our 3rd starter in 2009, Austin Ross, went 6-8 with a 5.18 ERA. This notion that it's inexcusable not to have a bonafide 3rd starter in college baseball is absurd, much less a 4th like another has mentioned. VERY few teams have 3, no one has 4 reliable starting pitchers.

You mean the year we had Ott to close for us? The same year we hit over 100 HRs and scored nearly 600 runs? That 2009?

Not the fairest of comparisons.
