My mistake. Shaq was a freshman. They were great on paper but not as a team on the court given the talent. We needed one more year.
Cj was so good I can't even put into words what it was like for those who didn't see him in person. The quickest shot maybe ever. He was freaking amazing. The old footage surely doesn't do him justice.

That didn't take long. What is wrong with you guys that you can't show some respect for his decision to change his name?
LSU fans knew him as Chris Jackson, as that was his name when he was at LSU.
Is it that weird that we still call him that? He was far more famous as Chris Jackson.

He was Les Miles before Les Miles. But he could recruit like a sumbitch.

Basketball is my 3rd favorite sport, but CJ is my favorite LSU athlete ever. I legit cried when I found out he was leaving. It seemed so out of the blue at the time for a sophomore to leave. And I knew it cost us a legit run at a title the next year. We were one year away.

I remember that LSU game against LMU. Cheered so much the dorm nurse at UST (Texas)gave me fluids while about ten students gathered in my dorm room to make sure I was ok. One gorgeous gal held my hand through the procedure. I was pumped that afternoon and evening. Met my girlfriend that night and had fun.

I loved Dale Brown but not winning a championship with Chris Jackson, Stanley Roberts and Shaquille O'neal is a travesty.
Saying "not winning a championship" is a hilarious way to put it. Thats like a 300 lb guy saying hes never "won the boston marathon."
He never made it past the SECOND ROUND with those players. He may be the worst coach weve ever had here.

It’s Chris Jackson.
His name will always be Chris Jackson.

And the other players on the team? Dale had a loaded team and completely blew it. His lack of coaching ability was never more evident.
How bout Michigan? They were final 4 with 5 freshman starters.

It was one of the most talented teams in NCAA history
I agree with most of your post, but this is an absurdity. There have been dozens of teams that were way more talented than this one. Houston had Akeem and Drexler on the same team, with about five other NBA prospects. Think of all the Kentucky teams, the UCLA teams, Dean Smith’s and Mike K$%^&*%$$#’s teams.

2 dominant inside men and Chris Jackson with the 3 bombs. And don't even think of fouling Jackson.
Shaq & Stanley were freshmen. Shaq & Chris didn't get along....Dale failed miserably to get these 3 to play together for their one and only season with each other.

Dennis Scott and Kenny Anderson who was a freshman. You ppl have tried to say Mackey ( 7ppg, 7rpg) was some kindve baller but he wouldn’t have started for us. They played 6 guys, pressed us with the score getting to the mid 90s and we couldn’t wear them out. If that would happen today you’d be screaming for Wade’s head. Nice try though we were up big and blew it no excuse fake historian.

I said one of not “the most” and it’s absolutely true. You’re overestimating the Houston team. Besides Clyde and Dream they had 2 NBA players not, “5 more.” Those two players combined for 550 career NBA points. The Jordan team had 2 other NBA players. And talent wise you can’t compare the supporting cast of those old UCLA teams to Shaq and CJ. Again all talented teams and like LSU are right up there but LSU belongs with em no question. You give that LSU roster to someone like The General and they probably threaten to go unbeaten.
