Different teams
We were stronger up front and at the WR position last season IMO. And even though LF was banged up a lot, Guice was 100% healthy the entire season last year.

Exactly the reason why the sky won’t fall if Canada leaves

So you are saying we are better than average, we are better than average despite playing against SEC talent? Not sure what you are trying to say!

Werent we also like the top rated OL in the country with probably two of the top 5 back in CFB and we played a bunch of teams with trash rushing defenses?

Rankings like this are pretty much only good for chest-thumping or aimless criticism.
For example, less than 19 yards/game separates the #35 offense from the #50 offense.
And that's without factoring in all the teams like Missouri who put up 700 yards and 60 points on shitty teams, but can't beat any team worth a damn.

Last year the offense under interim tight ends coach was ranked...39th
LSU had better personnel last year at nearly every position group: WR, OL, and RB. And we were healthier on the OL and at RB.

Solid post.

Now list what the offensive passing rankings were for the last two years...

I'm not sold on Canada, if he wants out, frick em, bye.
He had absolutely terrible red zone play calling this year and not good play calling in general. There were a couple games where he called a good game... out of 12 - not good enough.
We need a legit QB developing, offensive stud. Canada ain't that guy.

Seriously, you think you can compare Jennings/Harris to Etling and say Canada made that happen???????????
Etling is a seasoned senior and was not developed by Canada (at all).

Etling was the starting quarterback for the last two years excluding 2 games which are the same two years referenced in the original post. He's comparing total offense this year with Canada to total offense last year with Ensminger for most of the year. WTF are you talking about?

I don't think the sky will fall but it will be detrimental to continually be switching schemes. The offense not exactly clicking certainly contributed to the 2 early season losses.
In regards to his numbers, I would love to see what Canada can do with another year and a QB (more) of his choosing.
Even though the offense wasn't a juggernaut this year it still found ways to move the ball on the really good defenses out there.

There it is. This is the new bar, folks. Better than average.

UCLA offense is ranked 21st but they have a 6-6 record. What's your point.

Not bad for having
-erratic QB play
-worst WRs at LSU in 25 years
-OL that was slow to develop
-injured Guice most of year

And, we're ranked 54th playing a weak schedule against a bunch of teams with losing records.

34th in strength of schedule

Let's quit pretending that LSU is only team to play their schedule.
