The problem with what LSU is facing right now is pretty simple. So far they have had to beat Texas, Florida, Auburn, Alabama. They still have to play both TAMU and UGA and MAY actually have to play Alabama again along with whoever gets to the semifinal if we make it that far. But for everyone's sake, let's just say Utah gets in at 4.

Say it ends up:

1. LSU
2. OSU
3. Clemson
4. Utah.

And, let's say Clemson wins and gets into the natty. LSU v Clemson.

Assuming ppl win their bowls, LSU would have had to battle:

Auburn ~(9-4)
Florida ~(11-2)
Alabama ~(12-1)
TAMU ~(8-5)
UGA ~(12-2)

Clemson would have to go through, AS THEIR BEST WINS:

TAMU ~(7-5)
Louisville ~(9-4)
Wake ~(10-3)
Coastal Champ (UVA/VTech) ~(10-4)

And keep in mind the SOS of the "tough" teams on Clemson's schedule.

Something is wrong here.

Urban Meyer alluded to it recently. But there should be some form of standardization of scheduling across the P5 conferences.

I.e. no scheduling of FCS teams, increased P5 conferences scheduling home and homes with each other and stop doing too many of the neutral field games. Bring some meaning back to the regular season, otherwise you just get Clemoson and usually Bama marching through their pathetic non-conference(or conference) schedule into the CFP.

Personally, I think it would be cool to put the P5 teams on some sort of rotating conference vs conference schedule i.e. PAC vs Sec, ACC vs BIG10, etc.
