If successful, LSU will begin to draw the kind of QBs Les Miles could never draw. The failure of the past LSU offenses was directly due to Miles’ inability to transition from a 60s style scheme to today’s open spread.

To be fair Miles was able to recruit talent it's just that the talent didn't develop very much

Thing is, the offense you see this year may be drastically different in a couple of years. If Canada's as good as we hope he is, he'll be up for HC jobs in no time and he'll be out of here.

Did we fail to recruit top QBs?
Were the QBs we targeted top notch?
Did we fail to develop our QBs properly?

I'm not sure, but suspect a combination.

Canada is going to be successful. He just is. I would agree that his success will determine the "type" of QB which LSU attracts.

I'm convinced even Drew Brees would have failed in Miles system.

The chargers actually let him go and drafted Phillip Rivers in Miles system.

This thread is stupid so I won't comment on it. But, this is the reason I hated the O hire.

We have 2 great coordinators that I'm thinking would eventually like to move on. Without those 2, Orgeron isn't shite. And when they do move on, are we just supposed to keep taking chances on coordinators and let the coonass cookie monster play with fire?

Such a sad hire for a top program. Should have just gave the job to Aranda.

What kind of qb has les not had?

Mett = pro style passer

Harris = dual threat qb

Is there another?

This board never fails to amaze. Idiots make ridiculously STUPID shite up and then proceed to melt over their stupid made up shite.

Have you ever looked at Coach Eaux's hires? The ones he made at Ole Miss and LSU? Apparently not or you wouldn't post bullshite lies.

Two hires he made at Ole Miss besides NC winning staff members from the Miami Hurricanes were 2 coaches that he gave their first ever college coaching job. One was just a head coach in the SEC for 5 years and beat Bama 2 times and LSU 2 times - Hugh Freeze. The other was Frank Wilson. Bad hires?

Not good enough? How about the hires he has made at LSU. Pete Jenkins who is thought of as the best D-line coach in ALL of FOOTBALL. The #2 ranked recruiter from last years class - Tommie Robinson. The #9 scoring offensive coordinator in college football last season.

Point out some of his past hires that are causing you to go into full MELT and cry like a little girl. Tell the board how, if Canada did leave you would cry over hiring the guy who beat Bama in back-to-back years in his 3rd and 4th seasons on the job.

Nothing as entertaining as an unfounded total MELTDOWN on a Friday morning.

You are totally freaking out over a coach that has made great hire after great hire. Then in the very same post you want to hire a guy that as far as you know has never hired an assistant coach at any level of football. IDIOT !!!

Coach Eaux may be a better judge of assistant coaches and who to hire than he is a recruiter of players. Even though he has been named national recruiter of the year multiple times over the last two decades.

Miles recruited highly ranked QBs for a louisiana school. You've got to remember that lee, jefferson, mett, Jennings and Harris were all 4 star guys. Given that LA doesn't produce QBs, I'd say that's pretty damn good.

The problem was scheme and development.
