2011 Oregon could also be in contention for Miles

For Les the 2011 game vs Auburn was one of the most memorable. Even with Matthieu suspended they came out and dominated that game start to finish in all phases. I remember the announcers saying LSU was out for blood and every player was waiting to deliver the next big hit. At the end it was a 45-10 beat down.

LSU still probably wins. They were on cruise control for the entire fourth quarter.

No love for Stovall, Archer and Curley?

Stovall Alabama 1982
Archer Auburn 1988
Curley Alabama 1993

ETA Damn I forgot Arnsparger I’ll go with the 1985 Liberty Bowl because it inspired probably the greatest thread in history

Under McLendon: 1979 USC. It was loss, but oh what a glorious loss it was.

Any victory vs. Bama but the last stone each beat Bama except Coach O yet

McClendon 1970 LSU 14-9 in Birmingham
Dinardo 1997 LSU 27-0 in Tuscaloosa
Saban 2004 LSU 26-10 in BR
Miles 2011 LSU 9-6 OT in Tuscaloosa
Orgeron 2019 50-0 in Tuscaloosa***

***Hopefully this year Orgeron ends their streak, ruins their season, and we stomp a mud hole in them!!

Oregon was a good game. They were supposed to be so fast and speedy. We made them look like they were stuck in mud

While I was at the 1997 UF game and it is one of my favorite memories in Tiger Stadium, the problem with selecting that game is that the very next week, when we were about to seriously leap into the national championship discussion....we go out and lose badly to a shitty Ole Miss team AT HOME. With Romaro Miller at QB.

I would argue the 1995 Auburn game at home was just as big for Dinardo. It put us back on the map.

1. McClendon: the 35-7 win over Auburn in 1972. That Auburn team finished 10-1 and ranked #5 that year.

2. Dinardo: 12-6 win over Auburn, 1995. The Bring Back The Magic game, and the stadium was shaking after the Troy Twillie INT.

3. Saban: 20-13 over Oklahoma, 2004.

4. Miles: 38-24 over tOSU, 2008.

5. Orgeron: 27-23 over Auburn, 2017.

Honestly, you could choose several games from during Miles tenure and you could make an argument as it being his greatest game. I’ll list some of Miles greatest games IMO:

2005 vs Bama W 16-13 in OT
2005 vs Miami W 40-3
2006 vs Notre Dame W 41-14
2007 vs Virginia Tech W 48-7
2007 vs Florida W 28-24
2007 vs Ohio State W 38-24
2010 vs Alabama W 24-21
2010 vs Texas A&M W 41-24
2011 vs Oregon W 40-27
2011 vs West Virginia W 47-21
2011 vs Alabama W 9-6
2014 vs Ole Miss W 10-7

I’d say his biggest were either the Sugar Bowl in 2006, UF or Ohio State game in 2007, or Oregon game in 2011, and the game of the century in 2011

Given all the hype and the magnitude, hard not to say 9-6 for Miles.

Gotta give McClendon love for the 1966 Cotton Bowl when LSU beat No.2 Arkansas 14-7. The pigs had a 22-game winning streak at the time and no one thought a 7-3 LSU team would be a match, much less find a way to win the game.

to the downvoter, clearly you weren't alive in '79. The USC game was one of the most exciting games in Tiger Stadium history.

Yes, we lost, but were in it right to the very end. We weren't good that year (finished 7-5) and USC was no. 1 at the time (finished 11-0-1 and no. 2). They had two Heisman Trophy winners in their backfield and truckloads of other talent.

Sometimes a W isn't what defines a game.

USC was a great night at Tiger Stadium. I was there but that loss can’t be Mac’s greatest game.

1966 Cotton Bowl over previously undefeated Arkansas

1970 whipping of Ole Miss and Archie Who

1971 Irish Stew in Tiger Stadium

I was definitely alive and in Tiger stadium south end zone U-19. It was a great atmosphere and a great example of standing tall against seeming insurmountable odds but don’t insult Coach Max wins by calling this his greatest game.

Was in same seat for the 0-3 loss to Alabama the same season.

'07 Florida was indicative of Miles' tenure. Keep it close and win it in the 4th Quarter.

'07 Va Tech is what happens when LSU finally lives up to its fullest potential. Absolutely demolishing a Top 5 team.

'07 Va Tech and the '05 Peach bowl vs Miami were to most dominant games against elite competition I've ever seen LSU play.
