This is the most tame, benign shite-talking imaginable. Savage? Sure, but absolutely warranted. People loved Clark’s swagger when she taunted Louisville while dropping 41 points, but when Reese did the exact same thing, suddenly the conversation devolved into how “disrespectful” Reese was, how “classless” she acted, how Reese didn’t “win with grace.”
All the hits, now sung loudly by the same chorus who posted Clark’s preening over Louisville non-stop.

The players watched videos of Clark for days. They saw Clark disrespect a Louisville player. They saw Clark disrespect a USC player. They probably watched those clips more than a dozen times in preparing for the game. They repeatedly saw what a trash talker Clark was.
Yet Reese and Morris repeatedly heard how good Clark was for the game, what a competitor she was, how little girls should look up to Clark even though she talked a lot of trash. They didn't hear similar language used about their similar behavior.
Jordan used to manufacture beefs with opposing players. He'd create shite to motivate himself.
Reese and Morris did not have to manufacture anything. They just had to compete harder than Clark. Out hustle her, outwork her.
They did, both physically and mentally.

I love smack talk in sports. But it needs to be from the moment, the game or at least in retaliation to something done directly against you previously. Otherwise it’s just shite talk and confusing. This is women’s college basketball. That fanbase just doesn’t have the recall for that.
Angel’s stuff is fine when you have all the background. It just takes too much explanation.

Not a fan of Clark's behavior. It should've been condemned when she did it. But why stoop to her level? Or lower, given Reeses followed her around. What did that accomplish besides making that moment topic of discussion nationwide, rather than the incredible game and season the Lady Tigers had? I wish she'd have just headed to the bench, made sure to walk past her while pointing at her ring finger. Then the haters would have nothing to complain about. Oh, except the officiating. Haters gotta find somethin' to hate on.
