Well, don't take it personally then. I used to be a criminal defense lawyer. I know from experience that there are quite a few pricks in the police force these days. Guys that use a badge to feel powerful because they are weak in other aspects of their lives. Not the majority of cops, but a few.
Just don't ever play the "my dad/uncle is a lawyer" card. It's laughable and just makes things worse.

the people agreeing with this are probably the same ones who complain about the student section not being loud/roudy enough. it can't work both ways.

I would have to imagine that most of the older people in this thread, with their holier than thou, it's the law attitude, would have shite a brick if the drinking had been 21 when they were in college.
I can totally understand your discontent for someone acting like a jackass, but honestly, tell you me, never in your life have you done something retarded while intoxicated.
There is no need for the cops to go around giving tickets, if it's a civilized tailgate, the cops could maybe use a little discretion, make them pour out what's in their cup and issue a warning. Would that be a huge deal? I think it would gain a lot more respect, and there would be a lot less problems.
BTW I am of the legal drinking age, so don't even come in here with that bullshite.

You know good and well that warnings don't scare anyone. The same jackass that gets a warning is going to refill his cup as soon as the cops leave. They are trying to curtail unwanted behavior. The only way to do that with someone who is intoxicated who shouldn't be drinking is to come down strong and swift. I think that causes less problems and gains a lot of respect for the law.
It's the law and there is nothing you or anyone can do to change it back to 18. The federal government forced the hand of Louisiana to change the law. It's never going back. Get used to it. You might as well abide by it.

easy fix. just get a magic marker and mark everyones hand at the tailgate over 21 and tell barney fife they are the only ones allowed to use the keg or get booze.end of story.

They shouldn't be worried about 18-20 years olds drinking, but they should be enforcing all the drunk driving going on after the game. I saw about 5 near accidents, people almost getting hit, and assholes running red lights all in one walk down Burbank from the stadium. Not one cop in site. And most of these people seemed to be >21.
