Happy about the win but extremely disappointing that we haven’t really had anyone step up yet. Accepting that this is the least amount of talent we’ve had at this position in a decade, what is the plan for moving forward?

It’s the QB. He is terrible.
There are ZERO medium routes or they just don’t get open or he can’t see them over the linemen.

I'm failing to see how its the qb's fault if there are no medium routes and the wrs don't get open.

I don’t buy its the QB. We’ve had atrocious QB play for a decade yet still had good receivers.

On one of the roll outs under pressure, the one where Etling tries to fight 2 defenders for the 1st, the announcers said none of his WRs were even trying to get open. They just stopped their route and watched.

Sullivan never turns his head and Etling throws the ball through his arm pits and almost gets an INT.

It's been mentioned throughout the season WRs are not getting off of jams, run bad routes and are not getting their head around soon enough. Etling did not have a good game, but his WRs are not helping.

The only big catch opportunity by a WR was Chark having to steal back an underthrown ball.

This. Etling cannot get the ball to them.

They're doing nothing to get open. It's a weak unit top to bottom

For the most part, yeah.

It was my biggest worry coming into the season (and yes, there are several contenders for that now).

I've been bitching about them as a group after every game.

Don't forget, it's their blocking that is also contributing to not getting good 2nd level runs; secondary to OL.

How about Stephan Sullivan not even realizing the ball was about to hit him in the chest and almost getting a pic

I will say this, it appears the receivers play with more energy when Brennan is playing; maybe its confidence that the ball will get to them timely??

I've noticed that too. Thought about it a little.

I might be that those "2nd string" WRs like Dillon and Sullivan get more reps with Brennan and therefore just have better chemistry.

What it is more likely is the slow reads and hesitations by Etling. And this is somewhat counter-intuitive, but they have gotten used to Etling; when he does throw out of a break (rare) or on time they are surprised every damn time. So when Brennan is in they don't have that "comfort" of timing (late) so they have to be on their P's and Q's.

In my opinion, the receivers just aren't really featured in the offense other than the jet sweep. We've seen Chark, Davis, and Sullivan make big plays before and Anderson showed potential last year. Most of the time it's a two receivers and two tight ends set. So when lsu pass the ball it's really only a 2/3 man route if you add the running back. That's easy for a defense to cover. Plus I've never seen Danny place a ball where only the reciever can catch the ball. The best I've ever seen Danny was against Texas a&m last year and this year in the two minute versus Syracuse. If lsu was to ever used the spread more often and just not when it was an obvious passing situation, I think this offense would look a lot better especially for the quarterback and receivers.......this is my first time posting on the rant, have fun lol
