LSU vs Tennessee - Matchup question
I do not understand baseball that much so asking the question:

[1] How do we match up talent wise against Tennessee. Are they more talented, are they more experienced. Why are they such a potent force this year?

[2] What are our legitimate odds of beating them?

This feels like the 2001 SEC CG, when we were the underdog and we still won. Maybe I am wrong, but after 2001 I do not think we have been an underdog to Tennessee in any major sport.

At some point LSU was playing 5 freshmen this weekend. WE are like a JV team. UT has more experience.

Your basketball program was complete shite for about a decade so I’d reevaluate this statement. Definitely underdog a few times with Johnny Jones and Trent Johnson.

re: LSU vs Tennessee - Matchup question
To get a really informed answer you would need someone who takes time to follow the game more closely than I.

They swept us in our 2nd SEC series but the games were all competitive.
G1 (Marceaux): 1-3
G2 (Hill): 8-9 (11)
G3 (Labas): 2-3 (8)

IDK how much UTenn has changed since then. For us, we've lost Hill and Gio is doubtful.

Where we're playing better:
- Putting Arnold batting second
- Young pitches stepping up
- Hilliard has been productive and Labas pitched well in Eugene.
- I don't think we're striking out as much now as then.
- There's way more better good team chemistry now than at any point this season.

Concerns
- Lots of tired arms (Marceaux, Labas, Hilliard, and Coleman)
- Milazzo's batting is almost an insta-out. And I dont think he bunts well.

Finally. IMO, this series is very winnable and I think we still have a lotta room for improvement.

TN had some good baseball and basketball teams since 2001. I don’t think we were better every single year in baseball. Certainly not in basketball.

It’s sad how bad he bunts when he’s the most successful bunter on the team. One thing he’s usually good at is not swinging at balls out of the strike zone.

Until he gets to 3-2 then he swings at bull shite and strikes out almost every time

Coleman? He’s pitched 29 innings this year. He better not be tired.

And Hilliard has pitched 31.2.

If these guys are tired then Tennessee’s starters must be exhausted.
