LSU just added Southeastern Univ. to the schedule to replace one of the lost games from the Nebraska MTE.
They'll play next Monday, 11/30 at 7 pm in the PMAC. Game will be televised on SEC Network +, which is the streaming channel.

I don’t know why I always look forward to that guy’s gameday troll post each baseball season, but having an unexpected basketball version is a nice surprise.

I guess it is better than nothing (or maybe it isn't?), but you hate to see one of Wade's biggest strengths (his ability to put together a great OOC schedule) completely mitigated.
I don't see how the selection committee will be able to put a ton of stock in the NET ratings because the SOS aspect could be complete dogshit. At this point coaches are just trying to get games regardless of quality of opponent.
St. Louis should be a tough game, but otherwise LSU almost has to go undefeated in OOC play simply because they schedule is pretty weak. Any loss in OOC play will likely hurt far more than any wins would "help".

I think eye test will be much more important than NET this year.

SLU and Texas Tech is as good as you're going to do this year without marquee matchups or rivalries like UK/UL.

Is it sad I’m more excited about basketball season than watching football?

VCU and N. Texas will be solid and entertaining games.
N. Texas returns a good roster along with the reigning C-USA player of the year and is projected to compete with WKU for reg. season champion.

Definitely not!
Even if football were doing well, I would still be amped about this basketball team and season.
Then again, I seem to be in the minority of fans that wants LSU to be good at everything and can manage to follow more than one sport or team at a time.

My guess is he wants to have as many data points as possible. My guess is his belief (which seems reasonable) is that a power 5 team that stacks up wins (regardless of sos) will be viewed favorably compared to a team that sat around and let games get cancelled

My guess is he just wanted a game at this point to get the work in, no need to read into it

Welcome to the late 80's-early 90's.

You're putting entirely too much thought into this. Every school is dealing with this issue. We are stacked and will be dancing as long as the tourney isn't shut down.
