I've been looking for this game on YouTube for years. Finally found it. Macklin and Scales, LSU winning the SEC Tournament

Bumping because of the discussion of greatest dunkers of all time, the name Dewayne Scales came up. I still haven't gotten to watch the whole thing but I think Scales was named MVP in this game. I was in 9th grade and saw some of this game on TV but have never watched the whole thing.
The game back then with no shot clock or 3-point line looks a lot different than today. There was a lot of work to get a good mid-range jump shot, or a post-up turnaround jump shot. I look at Scales' game (he was a good shooter at 6'9") and think how dominant he could have been if he simply posted his man up and elevated over him for a dunk, basically more of a low-post power game, leveraging his incredible leaping ability. I don't know, just wondering. Scales is one of the most exciting players to ever play at LSU and the 1980 team is still my favorite all-time LSU team.

Oh, I remember that game! That made of winners of two of three against UK that year. We beat them 65-60 in Lexington in January, lost to them in overtime 76-74 in Baton Rouge on Feb 20th, then beat them in the SEC tournament. I was a sixth grade kid in Kentucky at the time. I absolutely LOVED wering my LSU shirt to school the next day. The school librarian taped a sheet of notebook paper over the LSU logo. (She turned out to be a wonderful person. We had a perpetual bet of a quart of ice cream on every UK/LSU game for years afterward until she passed away after I had graduated from LSU years later.)
Oh, I miss those great UK/LSU clashes from the 80s!
